Both of those are ahistorical modern inventions.
The so-called "fourth estate" does not have, and never has had, "integrity". Journalists don't, and shouldn't "have a special kind of place in American society". And they are not "entrusted...to speak on behalf of the population".

CNN isn’t even trying to fake impartiality now. Look now at the CNN headline: “Clinton campaign says Trump is dangerous”.
I couldn’t stand him on CNN but over the last few months at FNC I have come to enjoy his comments. He is a breath of fresh air on the morning show after listening to the never ending PC estrogen brigade FNC parades on it’s channels. Wretchen Carlson, Dana Perino, Ana, Shep Smith...
Agreed and I must say; Dana Perino turned out be my biggest disappointment of all. She and the others you mentioned should just slither on over to MSNBC or Clintoon News Network and take Herralldoe with them. He is the biggest jackass of the bunch.
I could not agree with you more. She is just awful and really always has been, from her first days on the program.
She’s a snob and that probably doesn’t help because she’s become so used to purified air.
