Homeschooling Not Lawful? [California]
HSLDA ^ | July 25, 2016 | Mike Smith, HSLDA President

Posted on 08/09/2016 1:24:03 PM PDT by fwdude

Just when we thought the right to homeschool had been firmly established in California, all of our members in the San Benito High School District received a letter saying, "[U]nder California Law, a home school is not a private school, nor is it a lawful alternative to public school … ."

The private school exemption has been used by California homeschoolers since the revival of the movement in the late ’70s. Many school districts and the California Department of Education took the same position that the San Benito High School is now taking. But despite years of official opposition in numerous places in a variety of ways, HSLDA successfully advocated for many families whose homeschooling was challenged by school districts and other public agencies.

Now, Now; I am a native Californian, I can love my state and still hate the government we have.
It was mostly transplants from eastern and midwestern states that voted to turn California into a third world shithole.

Eastern liberal transplant shock, I can see.
However, CA has done a splendid job turning into a sh1thole, from native Californian madness (fruits & nuts), and the MILLIONS of illegal immigrants that over tax it’s cities.

Mid-westerners are Not to blame for CA’s ills.

“They cannot bear the thought of children not in their grasp being taught real American history and learning concepts like individual freedom and self reliance.”

And the can’t abide the loss of ADA money for the $hit teachers and administrators. Homeschooling messes with the Education Establishment’s “rice bowl!”

“And this was supposed to be one of the prettier parts of the state (Anaheim.)”

Really dude, Anaheim is pretty? Someone is $hitting you! Anaheim is the last place in CA I’d call “pretty,” and I’ve lived in NorCal all my life! It was pretty before they whacked down all the orange groves 50 years ago to make way for Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm (and Watts and Compton, the list of $hit holes there is endless).

My parents, my sister and myself lived in California for 16 years in the 1970’s, 1980’s, and for a few years in the early 1990’s.

My family moved to Santa Barbara from Long Island, NY in 1974 and I went to college in L.A.

When my family moved out there, California got a number of new Republican voters.

I met plenty of native-born Californians who were moonbat liberals and democrat voters.

Then there are the illegal aliens and their citizen anchor babies, who are eligible to vote when they turn eighteen.
More democrat voters.

Personally, I think Disneyland IS pretty, but Anaheim as a city....NO. I have to agree with you there.

Now, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, Newport Beach, etc......southern Orange County is quite beautiful.

No truer words have ever been written. But all these dinks here that “cluck” about California, need to be looking over their shoulders, because the “$hit” that came here from the places you mention, are now “backfilling” places like Colorado and Texas, because their “nests” here are FOS!

True, but the money there works to keep the teeming masses to the north out.
I worked the Long Beach Grand Prix with a friend who is a Black, ex-LAPD officer who now lives in The East Bay. On the way out of LA he wanted to stop in “The Valley” to hit a burger joint he knew about on Sepulveda. It was so bad there that even he wished he were armed! I feel sorry for long-time LA residents, because illegal immigration has turned a once-beautiful place into a cesspool.

You just went to the wrong part of the state like most tourist’s do.
Anaheim is nothing but a haven for hookers, gang bangers, and illegal aliens. I know because I used to live in Downey, Ca. and took classes at Santiago College, in Anaheim and Garbage Grove (Garden Grove, Little Saigon).
You would like our thriving metropolitan community of Hayfork, Ca.
Population 1100 (on a busy day); all citizens are armed, all citizens are polite, all citizens are professional.
This is the California I grew up in before the the eastern liberals moved out here and destroyed it.
We don't have any big attractions like DisneyLand or Hollyweird, but we do have tall timber, the Trinity River, Hayfork Creek, the East fork of the Hayfork, gold mining and panning, good hunting (birds and big game animals), Cattle Ranches, farming (unfortunately most of them are pot now). I grow Pears, Apples, Plums, Prunes, Peaches, Pluots, and Cherries, plus the truck garden for household vegetables and herbs.
Its a good place to live for a native Californian who feels like a foreigner in his own land. Hell most folks in town even know my name, and I dont go to town all that often.

“It was mostly transplants from eastern and midwestern states that voted to turn California into a third world shithole.”

While I entirely understand the antipathy toward California (and Californians), I agree that it was transplants that did most of the damage.

All of you, remember Nixon and Reagan. California used to be reliably conservative and Republican.

I am a native Californian, and have never voted for a Democrat. My father campaigned for Goldwater.

As I have posted elsewhere recently, the state that deserves the most blame for the advance of communism is not on either coast: It is Wisconsin.

Through so-called “progressivism” (communism by euphemism), Wisconsin has gradually infected the entire nation. Because it is neither hugely populous nor culturally admired, it does not get the (negative) attention it deserves.

It is no surprise that Paul Ryan comes from Wisconsin, nor that Walker is no fan of Trump and nationalism.

Do your research; Pelousey, no it’s not a misspelling, she’s a parasite, (comes from an eastern family), Swinestein (comes from an eastern family), Brown, go back far enough, he’s an easterner.
We native Californios go all the way back to the 1830’s, we don’t like eastern communist transplants.

I never said we didn’t have our own home grown crop of idiots, it’s just that us normal natives outnumbered them by a significant margin.
The influx of the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s, land of milk and honey, were from the east and midwest.
They believed that the goddamn government was the solution to everything.
And unfortunately they bred and outnumbered us.

They are just burning taxpayer money against the taxpayers whose kids they cannot corrupt. They know its a win either way. Outlast them. Outspend them. Keep harassing them forever with other folks’ money. If they dont win in court keep doing it, and if they ever get a win in court so much the better.

Write the names down and remember. Do not forget when the time comes.

As long as so called public schools remain a monopoly it is time to discuss ending compulsory schooling at the hands of government officials. I am in favor of education but let’s be honest no matter what method a parent chooses the requirements are still according to the rules developed by the state.

V RING at 500 meters!!!!
Most of these dink’s (as you call them) are nothing but eastern asswipes that need the government to handle their peckers into the magick slot so they can out breed, and out vote us. Most of them have never spent more than 25 years in California and presume to tell us what a horrible state we are.
WE KNOW GODDAMNIT; but people like them brought the plague; and continue to make it worse by breeding and creating more GODDAMN PROG/LIB/TRANSI/DEMOCRAT/SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST/ ASSWIPES/ to continue the march to perdition.
I pity Colorado, Utah, and Texas; their future was written in California.

Being ahead of your peer group is racist.

How can the state ever fulfill it's promise for universal equality when arrogant whites insist on learning more and faster than the slowest in the class?
