Donald Trump has led in polling against Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, and will "bounce back again," according to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
In an interview to air Sunday with businessman John Catsimatidis on "The Cats Roundtable," Gingrich acknowledged the last two weeks have been "tough" on the GOP nominee, but he called the post-convention political climate "a period of turmoil," The Hill reports, posting the remarks ahead of the show.
"[P]eople need to remember, just before those two weeks, he was ahead in every poll, so the chance for him to bounce back again I think is very real," Gingrich said.

Well, Trump for one clearly believed that he did because he is back on offense and recalibrating on issues that actually matter to the American people. The situation is still very fluid and unknowable, it could be anywhere from a dead point to 10 points or more ahead, so best not to expend any more capital on dead end controversies that only blossom a as part of a larger discussion of Trump’s temperament. Although granted this was not nearly as egregious as the Mexican judge conflict so he should also be able to rise above it much more smoothly.
Few if any, so therefore the media focused like a laser on that crying baby, in order to create a story that wasn't there and turned and to be specious, to the point where the WaPo issued a rare apology/correction. That didn't stop the other losers in the media, including Fox News, from picking up on it. I'm done with Fox, except for Judge Jeannine, and only her opening argument which is always spot on.

In the LA Times and Reuters polls Trump never left. Its been plus or minus 5 points, or tied since both conventions. Both polls are virtual ties today. I expect to see more close or tie polls this coming week.

How do you bounce back when you’re not down to begin with?
I read or heard that Trump didn’t lose ground, but that Hillary picked up support from previously undecided voters.
Can you say “convention bounce”, now going away. Convention bounces don’t last.

The man is drawing massive crowds and is perpetually popular with the public.
Gingrich sure knows how the give the backhanded insult.
His comments not only make it look like Trump is trailing now, but that he has been falling in popularity to boot.
