Fox Faces Its Uncertain Future: The Minor Murdochs Take Command
Breitbart's Big Journalism ^ | August 6, 2016 | Steven K. Bannon

Posted on 08/06/2016 8:31:30 PM PDT by Bratch

[snip]

Sky News in Britain, which is also operated by the Murdochs, doesn’t have the edge of Fox News in the United States. If there is a change, Shepard says it will be a sign that “the Murdoch sons want to put their stamp on the company by importing practices from Sky News in Britain.”

[...]

What’s their definition of “Fox without the edge”?

For some hints, we can take a close look at some recent MSM journalism.

Writing in The Washington Post on July 20, reporters Ana Swanson and Steven Mufson tell us that not only is James Murdoch a progressive green, but so is his wife, Kathryn:

James has long had an interest in global warming and measures needed to stop it. He sought to make BSkyB, one part of Murdoch’s European operations, carbon-neutral. And his wife, Kathryn, sits on the board of the Environmental Defense Fund; she is also president of the Quadrivium Foundation, which focuses on natural resources, “civic life, childhood health and equal opportunity.”

Moreover, Nick O’Malley of The Sydney Morning Herald reported in 2015 that James’ wife worked for the Clinton Climate Initiative, a unit of the Clinton Foundation. That is, right in the belly of the left-wing beast.

Finally, on July 20, Michael Wolff, who wrote a biography of Rupert and still follows the Murdoch clan closely, took to The Hollywood Reporter to describe the anti-Ailes operation as a planned hit-job. Wolff identified James Murdoch as the lead hit-man; he indirectly quoted him as saying that since the 76-year-old Ailes couldn’t stay in the job that much longer anyway, “Why not turn lemons into lemonade and get credit for kicking him out for being a sexist pig?”

Breitbart could pull a few of those ‘stars’ and get an Internet thing going. Later a cable outlet.

The Breitbart Sirius daily radio broadcast is outstanding but unavailable without the satellite connection, as far as I know.

He’s probably been spinning in his grave for decades over what they’ve done to his beloved Chicago Tribune.

They never update the information in their heads about a story. They just repeat the first day’s ‘reporting’ over and over.

Msnbc is unwatchable. I don’t understand how they even have any ad revenue coming in.

This explains the BS Fox poll having the Wicked Witch up 10 points.

We need a Conservative news network to counter the other 99.9999%.

One America News Network (OANN) is trying to do just that. Unfortunately, they only have 2 shows at the moment and no advertisers. Those 2 shows, 'The daily Ledger' and 'Tipping point' are both very good conservative shows. I hope to see them grow into what FNC should have become.

Their advertising revenue will reflect this. Soon.

You mean no more 'My Pillow' ads every 5 seconds? I don't need no cheap ass pillow mailed to me, ya know? I might even start watching again then.

I agree with you 100%. My favorite show is Fox&Friends - both weekdays and weekends. However, the new addition on the weekend show (Anna) is not a good fit. She’s too young, inexperienced with the real world, and way toooooo liberal. Her main goal appears to be making sure her dress is as scanty as possible; plus she tries very hard to prove she’s better at everything than any of the men .. stupid.

Hemmer seems to be making a tilt to the right .. so he may not survive the Murdochs.

I’ve actually switched over to Lou Dobbs on Fox Business. Lou appears to be more to the right than most .. and is quite vocal about it. Plus, his guests are usually not the whiney liberals over at FNC.

If this be true, and I’ve no doubt it is, perhaps we shall soon see another push for a conservative network blossom. Right Side Broadcast Network has certainly made inroads this past year at garnering an extremely worthwhile audience. One America News Network, doing the same to some extent. There will certainly be more than one network needed. There are more than one true Conservative at Fox who will find themselves unable to work under conditions which will spring forth under liberal tyrants. OTOH, Megyn and Shep would have their own little corner of the world.

They survive on cable/satellite TV "package money"...also the reason you can't buy cable channels individually. Content providers like NBC/Universal/Comcast say to cable/sat providers "you have to take/pay for all these channels or you get none of them". That little game needs to be broken up...

Since the resignation of Roger Ailes, Fox News channel has become almost unwatchable. It is clear that the left has gotten rid of Ailes through sexual harassment complaints
and now the left seeks to consolidate its gains by slowly changing the investigative policies of FOX NEWS journalists.
Fox now is begining to just make up the news by omitting facts and adding their pro leftist spin.

If you can get it, Now the best news by far is from

One America News: http://www.oann.com/

I have not watched a moment of the FNC since Kelly did the ambush debate. Before the candidates even left the stage, I turned it off and deleted all my scheduled recordings. A few months later I added OANN to my Roku channels.

Fox is not especially conservative; it only looks that way in contrast to the leftist tilt of its competitors. If Fox is absorbed by the MSM Borg, it opens the space to the center and right for a new entrant. I don’t watch much tv; is there any viable option in the wings?

Not just chattering women. There is a huge amount of prattle all day long. It’s more like Good Morning America than not and it kind of irritates me. However, turned on extremely low volume at night it helps me sleep.

Rush Limbaugh should put his money and mouth to work and create or buy a news/information outlet. Rush and Ailes should re engage in the battle of hearts and minds and create a counter weight to the progressive/social justice/ commie crap that dominates the world.

Rush is riding off his legacy, mailing it in and basically doing as little as possible to maintain his audience and advertising base.

Rush, you did it once. You were a world changer. You had a fire in your belly. Now you are slowly riding into the sunset happily astride your billion dollar empire. It is painfully obvious that you are giving very little prep time to your show. The money, the glory, the lifestyle, it owns you!

Rush we need a new NEW media champion. Fox is nearly gone. The one that controls information controls everything. You will have your private jets and secured mansions. The folks like us, who were loyal to you, who made you...we will be targeted with, censorship, marginalization and punishment.

Get back in the game Rush! Team up with Ailes or someone and launch a new conservative media outlet. It is either that, or set back in your leather recliner with your pussy cat and drink expensive wine, while you watch everything you worked for and stand for be dismantled.
