Waste of time.
All FReeperdom “KNOWS” all about New York City.
All FReeperdom “KNOWS” all about all New Yorkers.
Should they visit, it is usually Manhattan and the people they meet are almost NEVER born and raised NYers....but from somewhere else.

Before I moved to WV I was a NYer...from LaGuardia to Blumberg. Couple of years after I moved here someone told me, “You’re not like a New Yorker.”
My answer was,”Oh? And how many New Yorkers have you met?”
....crickets......

I think they are making the distinction that is not going to be government funded.

As to the Bloomberg comparison, they are just suggesting a millionaire is looking to buy the mayor’s office with mostly his own money.

Some folks here just read to much into things.

“Your profile says you are from California. What expert knowledge concerning NYC gives you the right to condemn and pass judgement on the city? How much time have you spent here?”

My little sister was Associate Fashion Editor for Women’s Day Magazine. She lived at 72nd and West End. Visited her many times in conjunction with numerous business trips to NYC. I feel about NYC like I do about Los Angeles and San Francisco. They are all RAT-run $hitholes. And like California’s rural areas, New York’s are full of great people and are wonderful places. I thoroughly enjoyed my numerous business trips to Corning and having some time to spend on The Finger Lakes. For any sentient human being to regard these once-great cities with anything but contempt, is unthinkable. They are now inhabited, for the most part by low-intelligence level people who think that the rest of us”owe” them a paid up existence from cradle to grave. BTW, I was born in San Francisco, and I now regard it as as much of a disgrace as I do NYC.
