Republicans in Congress are criticizing President Barack Obama’s administration for its approval of a $400 million delivery of cash to Iran on the same day the country released four American prisoners and formally implemented the nuclear deal.
Though the administration says the timing of the $400 million money transfer was coincidental, and part of a resolution of a failed arms deal between the two countries that dates to the Iranian revolution, critics say that a link between the payment and the prisoner exchange is undeniable.
“The claim that the timing is coincidental is beyond unbelievable,” said Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., an outspoken critic of U.S. policy toward Iran. “It is clear at this point that one of two possibilities apply to this administration: either the president has absolutely no idea what he is doing or the president knows exactly what he is doing and is playing for some other team.”

As long as Republicans remain in control of the House and Senate that is absolutely true. They may as well stay home. There’s no point in them bothering to come to Washington since they’re not going to do a damn thing.
One would think that by now the Republican Party would be embarrassed into action but they are content with playing games with their voters and enjoying the perks of office.
Now if Democrats regain control, you can be sure they will wield power ruthlessly. I have grudging respect for the fact that they play to win.

It is amazing -- simply amazing -- to me how weak, how disinterested most Republicans, especially the GOPE leaders, are when they are granted power by the vote.
But WHO let this happen? Obama doesn’t have a “stash”...he can only spend and GIVE AWAY tax dollars WITH APPROVAL OF CONGRESS. The REPUBLICANS run Congress... So the REPUBLICANS...especially the Speaker of the House is responsible, not Obama. Ryan gave him the money! Why can’t people make that connection???????

ok...then why was the DOJ against this? Why was it not announced? If the President of the U.S. works for our interests, shouldn’t he tell the people we’re normalizing relations, vice paying ransom. So the Iranians held these people to get the Shah’s (ostensibly Iranian people’s) money back. Why not announce that?
Congress controls the nations purse. Where does Obama come up with cash?
Wait... I know. Slush funds from unspent appropriations. New law: At the end of each fiscal year, all unspent funds go back to the treasury.
