On PBS, Mark Shields Trashes 'I'm With Her' As The

Mark Shields, the Democratic pundit on the PBS NewsHour, shocked the anchors a bit on Thursday night in a roundtable to discuss what Hillary Clinton needed to do with her acceptance speech. His answer was she needed to focus on people who feel let down by the economy....but not before he said she  had the worst campaign slogan he'd ever heard!

MARK SHIELDS: I think she - first of all, it's a great victory, acknowledge it. She has made history. The single worst campaign slogan I have ever heard, "I'm with her," I mean, it means nothing. It absolutely means nothing to anybody.

GWEN IFILL (after a nervous laugh): Maybe if you say like, "I'm with her."

MARK SHIELDS: I'm with her. I mean, like, "get over it."

I mean, it's about appealing -- and it says nothing about anybody's life, about the country. I was just thinking tonight of great speeches given by presidents on such occasions, and “The measure of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much, whether we provide enough for those who have too little,” Franklin Roosevelt.

Someone could have told Shields it's a slogan like "I Like Ike." It's a button, not a platform. But the campaign that says "don't vote for her because she's a woman" is at the same time constantly underlining her "historic" candidacy. That slogan is all about just channeling the excitement about her gender.

As he often does, David Brooks agreed with Shields, although this one wasn't a pro-Hillary point.

JUDY WOODRUFF: David Brooks, you and Mark have, I think, basically agreed for most of this campaign that you haven’t heard from Hillary Clinton the rationale for her candidacy. fter all these months, do you agree with Mark it’s still not there?

DAVID BROOKS: Yes, I agree with the “I’m with her.” It’s about I, though. The great god of Narcissus, which we all worship --

JUDY WOODRUFF: I actually thought it was “Stronger Together.”

AMY WALTER: Well, now it is.

WOODRUFF: Either way.

DAVID BROOKS: I would like to see an animating passion. Tim Kaine actually had a good line. What animated you before you got into politics? And she actually does have a story there to tell about children. And so drawing that animating passion will do good

Brooks wasn't a fan when the speech was over later that night. He called it "below average"....after the anchor Gwen Ifill proclaimed "She rocked the house!"

HRC’s entire chance is to demonize Trump. This election is a referendum on Trump because people want change, her chance is to make people afraid of him being President.

That is the entire election. Her platform would be meaningless anyway.

I didn't even watch the entire rat convention. Also I did not watch Fox News the entire week, or any other news and cable news. just so I wouldn't hear or see anything about the demonrat convention

I always record Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace and watch it after Fox and Friends Weekend. She finally came on his show to let him interview her. To make a story short I deleted the entire program from today, as I am not interested in hearing any of her lies. I am watching Legend & Lies The Patriots on Fox News which I also recorded. They are currently showing a repeat of Fox News Sunday as I am watching the recording of Legend & Lies.

Watters world is on after the repeat of the interview. I think I'll skip it today though.

Lisa** Most people who will vote 3rd party are people refusing to vote for Hillary, so it will make Trump's landslide even bigger. People on the right who refuse to vote for Donald will just stay home, but that number is getting smaller daily as people realize Hillary will finish the destruction Barry started.

And no matter what side you're on you have to know that the left employs Voter Fraud as the Reigning Champs of Ever, so we know already that MANY districts will have 134% of their votes going to Hillary. Trump would win in a hands down honest vote, but they'll try to do to him what they just did to Bernie. Did you know Tim Kaine was the DNC chair in 2012, when Debbie Wasserman Schultz was Hillary's campaign manager? After her loss, Kaine stepped out of that plum position for DWS to become DNC Chair, so she could rig and cheat Hillary's way to to the nomination. Bernie was never supposed to win, just be an opposition that showed Hillary could defeat someone. And now Kaine is the VP pick. They screwed Bernie (not that I'm a fan) and they'll try screwing Trump, which is why 3rd Party votes swing elections between the 2 frontrunners, And yes, the parties have divided Americans from each other as both sides dig in their heels for things the other side abhors. It's really coming down to freedom and capitalism or slavery and some mutated form of socialism. But I gotta go color my hair - Red white and blue with Trump spelled out in highlights.

Debbie** You know who I think the worse choice is😜Vote your gut, but first listen carefully to the things that are being said. Sometimes having knowledge of how things work isn't a bad thing. Our biggest problem is our divided country ., it's getting worse and worse . Pick who you think is less divisive .

God help us if he is elected. I have thought about writing my own name in and voting for myself. Hillary at least has Bill with her. They do have experience on their side.
