A Charismatic New World Leader Emerges and Suddenly Befriends Israel

In the end, it always comes down to money.

An Article I wrote last year about Alexis Tsipras:

A Charismatic New World Leader Emerges and Takes Control of Greece

An Excerpt:

“His name is Alexis Tsipras, and it seems that he meets much of the criteria of the prophesied Antichrist He was just elected as the Prime Minister of Greece. He is an atheist and a far left winger. His party in Greece is called SYRIZA. He has appeared out of nowhere in the last couple of years, almost magically. He has landed himself in a most precarious situation. Greece is broken. Is he the one to fix it, and also the EU which is struggling and groping at almost anything to revive Europe? All eyes are on this man.”

The Plot Thickens

When Alexis Tsipras ran as his party’s (SYRIZA) candidate in Greece to become the P.M., he made it clear to his constituents that he was anti-Israel and very pro-Palestinian. Well it seems that he has done an about face for economic reasons. A politician not keeping his promises? I’m so shocked!

From I24 News:

“Israel, Greece plan to hold trilateral energy summit with neighbor Cyprus early next year:

When Alexis Tzipras was elected prime minister of Greece in January 2015, Israel watched the political shift closely. The victory of the radical, left wing pro-Palestinian Syriza party was considered bad news.

On his first visit to the region, Tzipras came to change that impression and show that Greece is still a friendly neighbor.

Meeting with the Israeli leadership, opening a two day tour in Jerusalem and Ramallah, Tzipras praised the importance of the relations between Israel and Greece and showed that the partnership has survived the political change.

While in Jerusalem for a meeting with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Tsipras took an opportunity to sign the President’s guestbook, writing, ” With great honor to be in your historic capital and to meet your excellencies.”

Because of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict and dispute over Jerusalem, many countries refuse to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, much to Israel’s displeasure.

A former Israeli diplomatic official said that Tzipras’ reference to Jerusalem as Israel’s capital was “unprecedented, especially for a European leader.” [1] – source

Israel’s New Found Wealth

In the last few years, Israel discovered an abundance of natural gas, and then found that they were sitting on oil rich fields. Most every nation on earth has declared that they are vehemently against Israel. Just watch a video of PM Netanyahu at the U.N. during his silent glare at those whom he said were determined to destroy his people. None of this is a coincidence.

Greece’s economy was close to a complete crash and burn; can you see why after finding out about Israel’s riches, that Tsipras would re-think his position on Israel?

I24 News goes on:

“Calling Greece a “friend of Israel,” Tsipras offered Greece’s help in facilitating negotiations between the two sides and reiterated the need for Israel to protect its citizens and its security.

During talks with Rivlin, Tsipras also addressed the global rise in terrorism saying “in the wake of European terror, we must send a message from here in Jerusalem that cooperation can banish extremism and hatred.”

Rivlin responded saying, “ISIS is not only in Syria and Iraq, but spreading to the whole western world, who must take responsibility and say that we cannot live in a world in which ISIS exists.”

Later Thursday Tsipras will travel to Ramallah to meet with President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas.” -source

Israel, Greece ’embrace the future’ of energy cooperation

Greece and Israel, two western democratic states in a very non-western and undemocratic region, share many mutual strategic interests and on Wednesday Tzipras and Netanyahu agreed to expand bilateral security cooperation.Money also talks, off course, as the natural gas discoveries in Israel, Cyprus and Egypt in recent years are a trigger for the creation new energy alliances in the eastern Mediterranean. Tzipras and Netanyahu agreed to hold a trilateral meeting with Cypriot president Nicos Anastasiades early next year to continue discussing further cooperation.

Natural gas fields were discovered in both Israeli and Cypriot waters, which has strengthened bilateral relations on cooperation and maritime security, including plans to develop a pipeline connecting Israeli gas fields to Cyprus and undersea power cables between Israel and Cyprus that could enable export to Europe. Anastasiades visited Israel earlier this month to discuss development of these gas fields.” -source

Brethren, the news just keeps getting more and more interesting – especially in light of Bible prophecy! We took a look at Alexis Tsipras as a possible candidate for Antichrist. Could it be that he is truly the one? Only God knows, and only time will tell.

Praise God that we (the Church) will not be here when this wicked one is revealed to the world. We will be with our Lord Jesus in heaven.

Hold on tightly to the Lord and to His Word! Share the Gospel with the lost!

Time is short.

Mt. 24 warns of latter days and the many dangers therein. Whether this man is the anti Christ or one more of many anti christs who hate the Creator God of Israel, Christ Jesus and the Church and the Jews, I know not. We live in interesting times.

From Terry James at Rapture Ready: Antichrist Assumptions Declarations about Bible prophecy's most evil (likely human) character are slashing through this time of end-of-the-age stage-setting. I say "likely human" because there is a looming question mark within my own cogitations about whether Antichrist will indeed be strictly human. Those who continue to hold to the beast of Revelation chapter 13 as eventually emerging out of the revived Roman Empire are increasingly being viewed as in error. Many prophecy watchers now see that evil entity as a Muslim in waiting somewhere in the foreboding future. The deadly violence that is growing by the day, with ISIS (or ISIL) at the core of militant Islam's rage across the region that beastly horde infects, is proof that it will be an Islamist Antichrist who will one day soon be the man of sin of 2 Thessalonians 2: 3 --the Muslim Antichrist chroniclers declare. These eastern-leg Antichrist adherents hold that the Bible prophecy students and scholars who have for centuries interpreted Daniel 9:26-27 as indicating the prince that shall come is to be of Roman geographic origin have been and now are demonstrably wrong. The horrific events of today's Islamist, genocidal rampage as proof, is implicit within their railing against the long-held Roman Antichrist view. These give as their scriptural proof the fact that the world's final, evil dictator is referred to as "the Assyrian." And, there is absolutely no denying it. God's Word does indeed call this coming tyrant "the Assyrian." One such adherent to the Muslim Antichrist view gave the following Scriptures as proof the view is the correct one. Isaiah 10:24-25 - Therefore thus says the Lord GOD of hosts: "O My people, who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian. He shall strike you with a rod and lift up his staff against you, in the manner of Egypt. For yet a very little while and the indignation will cease, as will My anger in their destruction." Isaiah 14:25-26 - That I will break the Assyrian in My land, And on My mountains tread him underfoot. Then his yoke shall be removed from them, And his burden removed from their shoulders. This is the purpose that is purposed against the whole earth, And this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations. Micah 5:3-6 - Therefore He shall give them up, Until the time that she who is in labor has given birth; Then the remnant of His brethren Shall return to the children of Israel. And He shall stand and feed His flock In the strength of the LORD, In the majesty of the name of the LORD His God; And they shall abide, For now He shall be great To the ends of the earth; And this One shall be peace. When the Assyrian comes into our land, And when he treads in our palaces, Then we will raise against him Seven shepherds and eight princely men. They shall waste with the sword the land of Assyria, And the land of Nimrod at its entrances; Thus He shall deliver us from the Assyrian, When he comes into our land And when he treads within our borders. The modern territories that encompass those geographic areas out of which the Assyrian (Muslim) Antichrist will come conquering like in ancient times--according to the adherents' view--include the following: Israel, parts of Iraq and Iran, Armenia, sections of Egypt and Turkey, Syria, and Jordan. "The beast" will, they proclaim, emerge from the Middle East, not Europe. Scripture and current geopolitical, religious, and military trends are in agreement, they declare. Antichrist will be Muslim --or at least will initially hold to the religion of Mohammed and Allah as long as doing so is to his advantage while he acquires power. Now to look at another currently metamorphosing geopolitical matter of possible eschatological import. It is a development that the Muslim Antichrist adherents --at least some of the major adherents--have come down hard on in recent days. I refer to the sudden, meteoric rise of Alexis Tsipras as prime minister of Greece. He is a young, physically attractive, charismatic leftist who has ignited the anti-austerity fire under the kindling that is the Greek populace. Some describe his appearances in conducting public rallies as very much like those conducted by the young Adolf Hitler while he was in the process of emerging during the 1930s within a Germany, whose people were suffering dire economic circumstances. I state again here, so there is no mistake. I am not indicating that I believe this man is the one who will be Antichrist. I am simply stating that his seems to me to be the sort of man--under similar circumstances--who will one day erupt on the scene of a world quite desperate for an economic savior. --For one who will bring peace to a world about to explode in man's final war... Alexis Tsipras, as I wrote previously, is in my view, an archetype of the man who will be Antichrist. Point is, he could, even if not likely--again in my view--be that man himself. It is possible, based upon surrounding global circumstances and upon his origins. This is not possible, according to the Muslim Antichrist adherents. Tsipras is Greek, not of Middle Eastern extraction. However, it was recently pointed out to me by an Egyptian Muslim scholar, no less, that the name Tsipras is not Greek, but Turkish. The professor wrote: "This causes a misspelling in several Western languages that adopt direct transliteration from Greek (Tsipras/Τσίπρας)." In fact, in Turkish, this name is written Cipras. Turkey, of course, is the present state in the vast geographical area encompassed by ancient Assyria. Alexis Tsipras, as is obvious, is not in a direct way part of the region once known as Assyria. He is a Greek citizen, now elected to the nation's highest governmental position. He resides smack in the middle of the area from which the Roman Empire was spawned. Yet, his ancestry, it has been determined through research, is from that region with which Antichrist is associated according to the prophets Isaiah and Micah. The new Greek prime minister thus fits the Daniel 9:26 prerequisite. He has an ancestral resume compatible with Bible prophecy regarding the prince that shall come. I concluded quite some time ago, after studying the son of perdition's genealogy --admittedly only in a cursory way--that Antichrist will be a Roman by geographical residence. At the same time, I've believed he will come from the Middle East--be an Assyrian--by ethnic extraction. This is precisely the model presented by this archetype named Alexis Tsipras or Cipras, as our Egyptian professor has informed. I again emphasize that I am not saying I think he will one day be Antichrist. I would never make such an assumption, as we as believers of the Church Age have no basis upon which to make such a claim. We are to look for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, not the beast of Revelation 13. We will be kept out of that time when Antichrist wreaks havoc on a judgment-deserving world. We are, however, commanded by the Lord Himself to "watch." We will keep doing just that while the road to Antichrist's regime continues to be paved by current issues and events.

This activity is demon-driven, and why should we be surprised to see a number of precursors before the specific event of Revelation happens.

Except that nobody is selling “Trump for a safer world.” He didn’t say make the world great again. He said make America greater again.

I think you are pretty accurate about what is about to take place. But as the guy in Gladiator says, "Not yet." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SF9C3cklVIQ

I believe we have a few decades to go yet. For one thing, we haven't yet seen the latter rain of God's spirit poured out upon the earth (which I believe is in its beginning stages) as the gospel of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is being recovered, as Jude prophesied, in earnestly contending for the faith that was once delivered to the saints (Jude 3).

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. James 5:7.

The same signs and wonders and even greater will accompany the gospel of grace the way it did in the former rain of the early church. I believe God is getting ready to do this (as soon as the Church is ready) in order to bring in the last great in-gathering Jesus prophesied in Luke 14:16-23.

I also believe America is a key strategic part in all of this. I believe God is bringing about a rebirth of freedom in America so that America can once again shine the light of the gospel around the world.

So, let's be encouraged and strengthened and let us not be afraid. God's move is on and let's be part of it. And remember, we are told to keep our eyes on Jesus , the Author and Finisher of our faith. We are to watch for Him, not this man of sin. In fact, it is only after the Church and the Holy Spirit are "taken out of the way" that "that Wicked be revealed" (2 Thess 2:5-8).

As the Lord once told me, "Live your faith, Light the world."

God bless.

This terminology of “Pro-Israel vs Pro-Palestinian” shows up in commentary all the time. Its a little absurd for a few reasons, but one thing that is lost in the doublespeak is that when most people say “Pro-Palestinian” they really mean “anti-Israel”. That logic is evident even in the premise of this story. This story purports to reveal shock that the new Greek PM who was supposedly “Pro-Palestinian” has come to cooperate with Israel on economic and energy matters. Why is this shocking? If someone is truly pro-Palestinian, they have to be Pro-Israeli at the same time. Israel employs 100,000s of Palestinians. Israel is the largest trade partner of the Palestinian by far - indeed no other neighbor has anywhere near the economy that Israel has. Israel imports for consumption and for export more Palestinian goods than the all the other neighbors combined. Israel provides the backbone for all Palestinian infrastructure including electricity, gas, phone, water, sewage, internet and more. Israel collects and remits more tax money to the PA than the PA collects on its own. And the Palestinians use the Israeli currency internally and in trade. You cannot be pro-Palestinian if you are anti-Israel. W. Bush had this concept on lock. After a decade of back-and-forth Oslo negotiations under Clinton’s administration, Bush said simply that if they wanted US involvement then the Palestinians would have to show they can rule in peace, end incitement in the media, and use the power of the government to suppress violent militias from dragging them into conflict. Nobody gains, least of all the Palestinians, by encouraging conflict. To be Pro-Palestinian, one must also be Pro-Israel. Otherwise you are asking for ongoing and escalating conflict, which is definitely not in the interest of the Palestinians.

The Rapture is imminent and there is no Great Revival between now and the beginning of the Tribulation. The Great Revival happens during the Tribulation.

The rapture is imminent but I have reason to believe it will be a few decades. I’ve given some reason and support for why I believe that but you don’t address those reasons. You also don’t give me reasons or support for saying what you are saying.

Flat assertions are no argument but I’d be happy to talk with you in a good-faith discussion and a good faith discussion means we both have to be reasonable and in this case scriptural.

If you want to do that, then let’s start by you telling me how does what I say not add up and what support do you give for your assertions.

I also do not believe there will be a great revival before the beginning of the Rapture. Of course I could be wrong, but too many things point to the opposite. I will try and pull those verses together, but as was already mentioned; I also believe it is still 10 or 20 years away. Why do I say this?

In that day
- People will stop eating meat
o Scary, but there is already a lot of talk that people eating beef need to stop
- Babylon will be a great city again
o This requires a large ?Muslim? country and an effort to rebuild

The false-prophet will perform miracles, in my opinion, as in the days of Job. The miracles will be so convincing that basically, as is said, if the days were not shortened, even the very elect would have been deceived. In the book of Job, Satan was able to
1) call down lightening from the sky
2) stir up armies and have them take over new territory
3) control whirlwinds to destroy (Jobs children's house)
4) time events in such a unique way to allow the most devastating impact to Job
5) damage Jobs physical body and infest him with worms and do other damage.
How would you react if someone could call down lightening or a tornado right in front of you?

While I attended a very conservative seminary, none of the professors felt that the USA was mentioned in the end times. There are too many possible reasons why.

About the Rapture itself, I believe it will happen somewhere towards the middle of the tribulation, but before the false prophet performs any significant miracles. Jesus said He would never leave us, nor forsake us. He is honoring His word through the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit. As has been stated, the Holy Spirit has to be removed from the earth before the fullness of evil is revealed. I believe that will be the time of the Rapture, since the Holy Spirit can not leave without the Christians.
