Well there’s a tension between interests here.  While I agree with that, I'm still left wondering how much there really is.

I am pretty sure this is not official Noodles & Company policy and if they got documentation of it, the personnel responsible would soon be gone.
That is one reasoned assumption.  I hope you're right.

And if it is official Noodles & Company policy it would be absolutely idiotic.  Can't argue with that.  I agree.

But it raises the perennial question. Should we have legal civil rights requirements upon service rendered by a private entity.

Being unable to manage such a system sanely (case in point, the gay cakes) ought to argue strongly for its abolition.

Isn't it interesting the folks that constantly express the idea "across the board (blanket) descriminaiton" is wrong, are the ones who do it the most?

Don't lump Blacks, Hispanics, Homosexuals or the other LGBT fringe members together.  They are all individuals, some good and some bad.

Then you have this situation come up, where the "offended" Leftists did just that.  And they do it frequently.

All police officers were deemed "bad", so no service would be provided to any police officer.  That is obviously misguided.  And here's a reason most folks won't think about.

If the Homosexuals who were denied a wedding cake had simply walked into the bakery and tried to buy something, they likely would not have been challenged.  So this likely isn't a case of descrimination.

Instead it is a case of the bakery not wanted to be seen as supporting an event that goes against the owner's core set of beliefs.  That is his right IMO.

I believe that is significantly different than the police officers being denied any service at all.

Continuing on with that type of blanket descrimination, recall that Whites are all seen as racist, just because they were born with lighter complection.

Continuing on with that type of blanket descrimination, recall that all Whites are seen as being unfairly gifted with "White Privilege".

Continuing on with that, we find a White man having his head pounded into the pavement, and he is deemed unable to defend himself or take lethal measures to stop it, simply because he was White and the perp was Black.

Yes boys and girls, "blanket racism and social categorization" is alive and well in the United States today.  And what's more, Whites are not the offending party.

I don't agree with doing away with some laws protecting groups from blanket unfairness.

The problem isn't with those laws, it's the brain dead perpetrators of racism and social "lumping of group think" that make it impossible to enforce simple rules.

Is it okay to deny the wedding cake?  Sure.

Is it okay to deny baking or eatery service based on skin color or sexual preference?  I don't think so.

If we're talking a business where bodily fluids might come into play, the blood supply, or other situations where people might come into contact with fluids of an HIV carrier, perhaps so.

We have got to start pushing back against the racial / social activists.

Won’t be going there again.

Easy on the boycott there chief. Noodles and Co already fired the 2 involved and issued an apology to the officer and the entire police department stating their appreciation for the police department.

Too bad she wasn’t gay, that would have provoked outrage and maybe a Dept of Justice visit.

Basically, the worker has the right to refuse service to the officer, but the employer has the right to fire the worker because the worker’s objection to serving the police officer is not protected by law.

Of course, the rest of the workers might choose to form a union, in which case the employer and the union would have to negotiate in good faith over the matter.

That remark you made about hiring, low educated vermin so rings true. Where are they getting these people? Used to be High School kids worked shifts at fast food, and were scrupulously clean. Some of the cooks/servers now in fast food are rapidly putting me off going there, and some fast food joints are now absolute “no-go’s” for me. On a fun note, tho’, sometimes the make up on girls working the registers can really crack you up.
