They are not saying that Islamics are not bad guys. They are saying that they are being used and unleashed for political ends.
They are being unleashed by Islamists...if there is a banker involved look to Saudi Arabia. If Islam is being used, it’s being used by its own adherents.
I would agree that so-called “progressives”, such as they are at the tippy top of such ideologies, may view importing Muslims as further dechristianization. And in that they think they shall retain control, as if their secular non-Christian cultures will subvert the Muslims entertainments and sexual revolution the way it has too many Christian, and sadly formerly Christian, congregations; however, if that’s what the elites are doing then they are fools.
It took more than a century of corrupting everything they could touch, lay finger to, to produce must of the Christian apostasy we see today; but, Islam has the same spiritual daddy that the heathen West does ... meaning heathens in the West, if they do not repent, are spiritually disarmed just as they are spiritually bankrupt. And they don’t even have notions of nationalism to fall back on whereby they may have once opposed Islam as mere secularists.
A false religion (Islam) will consume those who, having already lost their cultures to post-modernity, will not embrace the true Faith that their societies have come to despise.
