Donald Trump says all kinds of crazy things on the campaign trail. But this one could open him up to prosecution—if the Department of Justice was really willing to go there.
Did Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump just call for a felony to be committed? On Wednesday, he urged a foreign government to hack an American citizen and release personal emails.
"Russia, if you're listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing" from emails that Hillary Clinton turned over to the State Department, Trump said in a lengthy press conference in Doral, Fla. "I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press. Let's see if that happens. That will be next. Yes, sir."
Trump himself has had financial interests in Russia. He has also praised Russian President Vladimir Putin and has said that if Russia were to invade NATO members, the United States might not come to their defense.

Well I suppose so. But it was a very clever one at least to the extent that you need to be clever to trick Dems into saying and doing stupid things.

But they fell hook line and sinker into this Trump Trap. We are now talking about Hillary’s Server and Hillary’s emails again.
Go for it Dems. Push this one hard. Get your friends at the WP, the NYT and the LAT to write up some ‘killer’ articles. Go for it.
Even if it was not a joke it was not treason. The article even quotes him. He specifically did not ask the Russians to hack anyone. He asked them to turn over information, that the FBI thinks they probably do have, that is relevant to a criminal investigation. They are required to do that by treaty.
Trump did not suggest that the Russians should start to hack Hillary’s emails NOW (although that’s how the press is trying to spin it.) It’s too late for that The server is gone. If Russia does have those 33,000 deleted emails, they’ve had them for quite some time - along with the classified information that F.B.I. Director James Comey has confirmed was stored on Hillary’s server. If the Democrats (who have insisted all along that Hillary’s server was never hacked) want to make an issue of this, they will be admitting that Hillary did, indeed compromise national security.

Donald Trump has been inside Hillary’s OODA loop for weeks and nobody knows how to fight him. Everything they do plays right into his traps. Trump’s campaign might look haphazard but it is actually masterful.

Amazing how Trump, with one little comment (heh heh) at a press conference, got the “email” situation (Hilly’s & DNC) front and center. Her campaign’s response (Sullivan) calling what Trump said a matter of national security was putting Hilly’s fat ass right in Trump’s trap .... what stupid idiots they are ... hoist on their own petard. Yup, Hilly’s emails ARE a matter of national security - nice of you Libtards to finally recognize that. The over-reaction is hysterical.

They know it was a joke. They are not idiots, but they have to cover for Hillary and they don't have much truthful material to work with. This is the best they can do here.
No offense, but calling them stupid just lets them off the hook. When they get painted into a logical corner like this we shouldn't let them off the hook, we must strike even harder.
