Donald Trump Challenges Russia to Find Hillary Clinton’s Missing Emails
New York Times ^ | JULY 27, 2016 | ASHLEY PARKER

Posted on 07/27/2016 9:38:31 AM PDT by reaganaut1

DORAL, Fla. — Donald J. Trump said Wednesday that he hoped Russia had hacked Hillary Clinton’s email, essentially sanctioning a foreign power’s cyberspying of a secretary of state’s correspondence.

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Mr. Trump said, staring directly into the cameras. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

Mr. Trump’s call was an extraordinary moment at a time when Russia is being accused of meddling in the U.S. presidential election. His comments came amid questions about the hacking of the Democratic National Committee’s computer servers, which researchers have concluded was likely the work of two Russian intelligence agencies.

Later in the news conference, when asked if he was really urging a foreign nation to hack into the private email server of Mrs. Clinton, or at least meddle in the nation’s elections, he dismissed the question. “That’s up to the president,” Mr. Trump said, before finally telling the female questioner to “be quiet — let the president talk to them.”

The Clinton campaign immediately accused Mr. Trump of both encouraging Russian espionage against the United States and meddling in domestic politics.

“This has to be the first time that a major presidential candidate has actively encouraged a foreign power to conduct espionage against his political opponent,” said Jake Sullivan, Mrs. Clinton’s chief foreign policy adviser. “This has gone from being a mattter of curiosity, and a matter of politics, to being a national security issue.”

Mr. Trump has largely dismissed assertions that Russia was behind the Democratic committee breach as conspiracy theories — a view he reiterated again when he said the hack “is probably not Russia.”

this is just delicious. Trump did not urge the Russians to hack the emails.

He was merely following up on the repeated after repeated after repeated groundless assertion that the Russians had hacked the DNC emails. That being true, it is logical to conclude the Russians had already hacked Hillary’s server and did in fact hold the missing 30,000 e mails. From the DNC talking points the only reasonable conclusion is that the Russians have the emails from hacks years ago.

It is also a fine point but Trump is not encouraging the release of State Department secrets. The emails in question are not those of a government official, the Secretary of State, but to the contrary, a private citizen Hillary Clinton.

This is one of the best gambits in the history of American politics

Media going ballistic. Trump shouldn’t have given them a press conference. Why reward them with any opportunity to take you down? That’s what they want to use that press conference for. Hillary hasn’t done one in going on 240 days. Don’t do them at all at this point because, if she who would get tossed softball questions won’t do them, then why should someone who is a target?

The lefties heads are exploding over this!

Just checked out DU and thehill.com, they are calling for Trump to immediately be arrested for treason. But I guess when Bradley Manning and Edward Snowden leak classified information and endanger the military they are noble patriots.

“..No, utterly stupid....”

Hardly. EVERYONE KNOWS that Hitlery is the clulprit here and Trump is driving THAT FACT home and he should not give up all the way to the election. It also shows the MSM for what they are along with the complicit administration goons who are supporting and protecting Hitlery.

Try as you will, NOBODY is going to change the FACTS.

It’s called a joke. Press pretends to take it seriously. Yawn.

Rush Limbaugh was lol’ing this as a fantastic media tweak.

This is Rose Law Firm Records Kabuki Theatre over and over again.

“We can’t find the key evidence you requested. It must have just vanished.” (blink, blink)

“We’d like to oblige the committee but we just don’t have those e-mails anymore.” (blink, blink)

“We are cooperating fully with these investigations but we’re pleading attorney-client privilige or the 5th amendment or the records have all just vanished.” (blink, blink).

(and the media protects them because they are, after all, The Team That Must Be Protected At All Costs).

So if nobody else is willing to tell Americans the truth about their government then, gee, maybe the Russians will be willing to do it. And our press will be oh so grateful (eye roll).

That’s the big tweak. This administration and their media is so corrupt and so in bed together that we have to hope the Russians will hack us in order to find out the truth.

What Americans ought to be asking themselves is why they should trust someone tied into two of the biggest security breaches in our history with the highest office in the land.

Trump gets plenty of press from a presser, and it’s all good. He gets their panties in a twist and then he enjoys the ensuing hissy fit. It costs him nothing and it costs Hillary plenty, in addition to the fact that once again, he has grabbed the headlines.

Trump is brilliant. What do Americans thrive on? Entertainment. So what does he give them?

Trump, like Reagan, is a masterful politician and an affable, if conniving, interview. His ready accessibility to the media has yet to fail to yield increased popularity. Eventually the press will catch on, about the same time they grow up, fire the snowflakes, and hire smart patriots.

This goes beyond just controlling the news cycle. Trump just tricked HRC into publicly calling her own mishandling of emails “a matter of national security”.

Another brilliant “rope-a-dope” maneuver.

This was a misstep on Trump’s part. All the media can now say is that Trump wants Russia to help his campaign. He could have framed this entirely differently.

And is Hillary implying she’s still running her basement email server still begging to be hacked? Hahaha.

>And since the Russians already have them, would they please share them with our press?

Yes. The Press took the talking points of the DNC. Those talking points pointed an accusatory finger at Russia. So if the info they presumably have was indeed obtained by hacking then the Russkies are in possession of stolen information. Would not anyone call for them to own up and release it since it doesn’t belong to them? Sheesh. Is the press urging a cover-up? Are they afraid of what next might be released? Would the information further blacken their future supreme leader and the DNC? Such posturing by the Press. Easily took the bait.
