Ed Rendell to Democrats: Time to Be ‘Single-Issue’ Gun Control Voters

Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell (D) tells a gathering of activists in Philadelphia it’s time for Democrats to be “single issue” voters for gun control.

The gathering was co-hosted by the PA SAFE Caucus, “Everytown for Gun Safety, American State Legislators for Gun Violence Prevention, CeaseFirePA,” and Gabby Giffords’s gun control group, Americans for Responsible Solutions.

According to Daily Local News, Rendell said, “If we’re going to make progress, the message we have to take is that we’re going to be single-issue voters. I don’t care about e-mails or anything else, (but) we need to vote for Hillary Clinton because she is someone who is going to make progress on gun control.”

When HITLER-Y says “gun control”, what she really means is
“gun confiscation”.

The democrats are not anti-gun.

They just want the government to be the only ones with guns.

It is “Do As I Say, Not as I Do”. I mean, anyone wants to be able to defend his/herself and families, but when it comes to other people, it gets a little different in terms of how one feels.

I already am a single-issue gun control voter. If you support new gun control laws, I automatically cease any consideration of voting for you. Its the first thing I look at these days and it tells me an awful lot about a candidate’s views on personal freedoms.

Yes, dems have an uncanny capacity to compartmentalize issues. If you asked them theyd have no problem with the concept of self defense...for themselves. Everyone else not so much. Ive had MANY conversations with dems about guns and, with the exception of the useful idiots, had no issues with guns for themsevles. They also tended toward ‘cowboyism’ in that they would shoot someone else for the weakest of reasons. Im not sure to account that to lack of training or liberalism...or both. I could never get enough useful info to form an opinion.

A closer read brings us the real intention of what he's saying. Ignore the corruption, the bribery, the catastrophic track record of Hillary's State Department, the total disregard for national security, the systematic influence peddling, the vicious, self-absorbed personality, and concentrate on gun control. In short, become a one-issue voter so you don't have to look at the slime. Not happening, Eddie.

Hey, Eddie, thanks much for embracing one of the worst possible issues for Dems on a national basis. Keep up the good work!

FYI, I - a conservative and a patriot - am a single-issue voter on guns...just not in the way that you’d like. If someone is against guns, that’s a metaphysically-certain signal that they are statist scum, that they don’t give a whit about personal rights, and are thus utterly unfit to hold any authority over others.

So, thanks, but at the same time, go phuck yourself, Ed.

I am a single issue RKBA voter in all general elections. Anyone who wants me disarmed has other evil intentions and cannot be allowed to win.

When libtards hear “gun control” they know it will never apply to them. Sort of like Lois Lerner and the IRS.

It only makes sense if you understand, to a dem, gun control means having guns yourself while disenfranchising anyone you deem as unfit.

Scott Adams nails it:

Silence, peasant! We must disarm the citizenry if we are going to control them!

You really don't have to read too far between the lines of "reasonable gun laws...against semi-automatic assault weapons" to understand that they want no such thing. Democrats like Rendell want an outright ban against guns of all kinds. They want to ban guns, ammo, and then seek to confiscate the rest.
