Thiel urges Republicans to back off 'culture wars

Technology investor Peter Thiel implored Republicans from the convention stage on Thursday against waging "culture wars" on lesbian, gay and transgender communities, mere days after the GOP approved a national platform that defines marriage as between “one man and one woman.” Thiel, who himself is gay, stressed that "every American has a unique identity." He said attempts to require transgender Americans to use particular bathrooms is a "distraction from our real problem." And in a first for a GOP convention, the Facebook board member and PayPal co-founder drew attention to his own sexuality: "I am proud to be gay, I am proud to be a Republican, but most of all, I am proud to be an American," he said.

Fuch you Thiel.

They want us to forfeit on these issues by not showing up.

If we are silent they say there’s nobody around objecting.

We are not going anywhere.

Maybe I'm the only one on this thread but anyway I'm secular and I don't believe that the government should care about what you do in the privacy of your home. Don't like public schools for your kids? Send them to a private school that shares your values.

Arguing over "sodomy", please save it for your home, your church, or at your child's private school.

In the meantime, we have more important issues to focus on.

Sorry but I disagree. Don’t be a marionette on a string. Republicans and democrats bring up culture war issues that they don’t care about and have no intention of doing anything about. All because they can get a Pavlovian response from the electorate. Realize they don’t give a crap about it at all, it’s just a distraction while they rob you blind and destroy your country.

I am not one to be worried about secret groups and all that, but I know many are.

“Thiel is listed as a member of the Steering Committee of the Bilderberg Group, a private, annual gathering of intellectual figures, political leaders and business executives.[65] He participated in every conference between 2007 and 2016.”

Exactly - it's all theater. It's just like pro-wrestling; the culture warriors on both sides in Washington laugh at all the "marks" that think it's real.

Congratulations, you support sodomy.

Not particularly. However, I think there are more important things to worry about right now. As long as it's between two consenting adults, I'm afraid I just can't get very worked about it.

That’s like saying we should embrace illegal immigration and not worry about the cultural impact.

Abortion is a HEART issue. Until people have a change of
heart, one person at a time, the abortion mills (clinics)
won’t close. - Abortion started out as supposedly “safe”
and “rare”; but has evolved into “an abortion in every
pot”! - It is a sly method of GENOCIDE, especially waged
on the black community, a Margaret Sanger suggestion for
culling the “Negroes”. HITLER-Y is a real abortion
pusher.

As far as “Congratulations, you support sodomy.”

I don’t support sodomy either; but I do not want to live in
a country that imprisons and abuses homosexuals. That was
one of Hitler’s favorite “vices” to punish, along with
Jews, many Christians and other “defective” people who the
Nazis thought cost the “system” money.

I don’t want to have a nasty habit shook in my face or
affecting my restroom needs; but I want to respect others’
freedoms & them to return the favor.

lol, and you believe that report?
Is that kind of like believing the Enquirer reporting on ted’s affairs?

Get real

As for Thiel - you guys are missing the point by a mile, but I’m aware that nothing, and I do mean nothing, I say will get you to see it differently.

In the meantime, the rest of us are working towards saving this sinking ship, for ALL Americans. Novel idea huh?

I don’t see how it’s a “culture war” to insist that if you’ve got a penis, you pee in the men’s room.

That’s more like a culture clarification.

The real problem is sickos like Peter Thiel.

How many babies has the “pro life” GOP saved? My count is ZERO. How many homo marriages has the pre-Trump GOP stopped? My count is ZERO.

Thiel has a good point. Both are parties are playing their bases on social issues to advance a corporatist agenda. If we don’t defeat the corporists we won’t have a country. It’s that simple

My daughter is gay and reading this tread makes me really sad to be a Freeper right now. She is the kindest person I have ever known.
Also, for the Freepers here judging, do you people think that a gay lifestyle is worst then our security, our laws being broken, our police being murdered, our citizens be killed by Jihadist(France just a week ago, 3 more Americans killed).
If you think that including LGBT citizens is a bad thing then why are you Republicans? Republicans are the party of inclusiveness and the party of self determination. Gays don’t bother me, all the other crap going on does.

While human homosexuality has existed for thousands of years, after all of the rhetoric and deliberate misguidance, within science, there is simply NO GENETIC CAUSATION FOR IT, OTHER THAN FORCED BEHAVIOR OR BEHAVIORAL CHOICE!

On April 14, 2003, the Human Genome Project was completed. The announcement was proclaimed!

“The human genome is complete and the Human Genome Project is over” (see “Human Genome Report...,” 2003, emp. added).

Within this report: “... neither the map for the X nor the Y chromosome contains any “gay gene.” (Brad Harrub, Ph.D. and Bert Thompson, Ph.D. and Dave Miller, Ph.D)

In another report from a very left wing publication:

“Scientists tested the DNA of 400 gay men... The genes were neither sufficient, nor necessary, to make any of the men gay.” (Guardian UK)

The only true science then becomes behavioral causality, period!

It was “Sigmund Freud who first postulated that parental relationships with a child ultimately determine the youngster’s sexual orientation.”

In other words, as there is no genetic causation, homosexuality and all other non-heterosexual relationships are learned by or forced upon individuals, often by children!

As we humans in general possess the propensity or desire to be our own boss, not be told what to do, occasionally break the rules, and often seek greater self gratification, sexual perversion then becomes a deliberate choice or forcible crime, as in forced sodomy.

I interpreted Thiel’s comments as being against the DEMOCRATS. After all he also said the “bathroom wars” were a distraction.
