Perkins — who's also a Louisiana delegate — says Trump has demonstrated his commitment to religious conservative values through his promise to appoint conservative judges, his support for the GOP platform and the selection of running mate, Indiana Gov. “Not sure what Evangelical is but I know we need them!!!! :)”

Evangelicals are people that would love to have a hard-core Christian in the White House, but understand that the country is not yet ready for that.

So they’re willing to accept an IMPERFECT candidate to at least hold the country together, rather than be a defacto cheerleader for the Democrats by whining about our choice.

Unfortunately, the ONE PERSON that claims to be one in our Primary field, I guess, is not one of them.

My favorite part of the speech was when he said he’d work to get rid of the Johnson law on preachers losing their tax exemption. EVERYONE should have freedom of speech!

James Dobson also formally endorsed Trump tonight on facebook:

“As a psychologist and a family counselor, I have spent my life equipping and resourcing families. One thing I have observed is that you cannot make a child talk about his or her parents the way Donald Trump¹s children speak of him,” Dobson explained. “That is one of a man¹s most significant affirmations.”

God is God, the president is the president, different jobs. Evangelicals just want a president that will allow God to work in this country.

Hmm.

Your search - Jefferson "religious freedom" site:www.focusonthefamily.org - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

  • Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
  • Try different keywords.
  • Try more general keywords.
  • Try fewer keywords.

That “Johnson law” goes back to 1954 and has not been enforced against black pastors, only whites.
