Bernstein continues to show why he’s an idiot.....
I like Drudge but he wields very little influence....

.... Now with the federal government yoked to Political Correctness, prosecuting the Tea Party thru the IRS, having the Justice Department sticking it’s nose everywhere....

Reminiscent of the reign of George III.

Drudge was the only journalist who gave Trump a fair shake. Sure Trump got a lot of press coverage — all negative. He won in spite of it.

After 2 sec. of thought, that’s how I got here. Way back when, almost.

This article actually says MUCH more about Berstein and leftism writ large rather than anything about Trump or Matt:

"We leftists KNOW that for all the music and trumpets, it is the unelected MEDIA that author the thinking of the slobbering, cross-eyed poltroons, staggering around out in fly-over country..."

Seeing this new champion emerge, they very naturally assume he is a hollow creation of some highly political but unseen media eminence-grise.

Given what they are, it MAKES SENSE that they say this.

I’d say Drudge wields less influence than it did in the late 90’s when it was one of the few games in town. I found FR through a Drudge link.

Now, there’s so much media clutter online for even the right that it’s got to dilute the influence of any one particular site.

Of course, I still check the Drudge headlines once a day out of longstanding habit. I get annoyed with the penis articles that he frequently links, and I rarely click through on more than an article or two.

The political elite and mainstream media are all scrambling to come up with an acceptable reason as to why Donald Trump became the GOP nominee.

Trump became the nominee because he was willing to take on the political elite and MSM.

The American public is far more astute than the political elite and MSM understand.

The American public has grown weary of the garbage being handed out by the political elite and MSM.

First it was Brexit and now it is Trump!!!!!

Nonsense. The talking heads are trying to come up with a reason Trump is the guy... and they can’t admit that it is him, that Trump did this himself. I doubt Drudge could have sunk him if he had tried.

Trump is the nominee because he was the only one who sided with the citizens against the illegal aliens and their employers

It’s not just ideology. Bottom line, media, Congress, nobody will say no to a black man resident. May we never have another.

I would place the most credit for Donald Trump’s candidacy on Donald Trump. But hey, that is just me.

Drudge has been the major force in media for 20 years. Yes, he only links. But he links what others bury. We are all awake as a result. Thank God for Matt Drudge. One guy and a computer.

When the article said “legendary journalist” I immediatly thought of Matt Drudge.

Then I realized that the person writing the article was applying the appellation to Bernstein. Bernstein, the tool who was used to forment an unconstitutional, bus successful media coup against a sitting president.

Yes. Matt Drudge is how I found freerepublic.

Matt Drudge’s speech to the National Press was epic. It was a blowout. They threw everything at him but the kitchen sink, and he took it and hurled back twice as much, because he had the truth on his side.

Epic.

The back story here is professional JEALOUSY, along with a lot of boiling HATE, too:

Matt goes ahead and drives the stories the others spike.

A natural loner, they can’t stand for Matt to wander past the guards into their poshly curtained, exclusive club and start pushing the china off all the tables. That he goes where the STINK is.

He had the Lewinsky story (and MANY others) for MONTHS, and it was dissected here at FR daily in a 1,000 ways DAILY. Matt was screaming about it for the better part of A YEAR, as if in his own media galaxy parallel to the “one that mattered”.

Daily I would let drop all the little details of this exotic, wizardly Alice in Wonderland, and my colleagues would look at me as if I’d grown an ALIEN HEAD out of my shoulder.

Were it true, HOW could they have not heard of it..?

They thought I was nuts, or something, but it was all true.

ONLY Matt was carrying it.

Wasn’t Matt Drudge an early Cruz supporter?

So if he’s such a kingmaker, then Ted Cruz would be the nominee now. But he’s not, so he’s not.

Trump was the ONLY guy willing to stand up to the politically-correct BS, every other candidate was either for the establishment or talked safe ... Trump won because he dared to say what ordinary people honestly thought - and nobody else did that this year!!
