Gavin Newsom :“Easier to get a gun than a happy meal in California.”
Breitbart ^ | July 19, 2016

On July 19, Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom tweeted that it is “easier to get a gun than a happy meal in California.” He based this statement on an earlier claim that there are twice as many gun dealers as McDonald’s restaurants in California. However, he overlooked that McDonald’s restaurants are not required to observe a ten-day waiting period on burger or fry purchases; gun sellers are.

I remember Rush using the phrase "an order of fries short of a Happy Meal." People believe this garbage.

People believe this garbage.

Notice that if a conservative had made a similarly stupid comment, it would be national "news" by now.

This is actually true

What’s with this liberal talking point, that it is easier to get a gun than (fill in the blank)???

Do we have any fact checking ever done in our media? We can debate about everything, but, considering waiting periods and background checks and other legal requirements, clearly it is easier to buy a happy meal then a gun.

Had to laugh when Obama said its easier to get a gun than a computer or a book.

I'd thought of a similar comment. Remember this?

He based this statement on an earlier claim that there are twice as many gun dealers as McDonald’s restaurants in California.

Really?

What is the criteria for being considered a "gun dealer" in California?

I only ask because in one silly story a few months ago when you dug a little deeper you found their definition of "gun dealer" included stores that sold only ammo or gun accessories (holsters, cleaning kits) although they never sold guns.

I don’t have to show ID, go through a background check or wait 10 days to get a Happy Meal. Newsom is an idiot.

What an asinine statement, but gun-grabbers will believe, or pretend to believe it.

I’m shocked that California hasn’t outlawed McDonalds for being too unhealthy.

If they make guns are hard to get as jobs we’re really going to be in trouble.

I know a couple of FFL holders who don’t even have a shop to sell anything out of.

They just use them for themselves and for acquaintances who need something shipped to a FFL holder for a small fee for doing the 4473.
