YOU’D better dig deeper. No one has ever tried to argue that in court and it’s a dubious proposition.

I’m okay if they keep their mouths shut. But once they show their lib colors I loath their existence.
At least I got the Clint Eastwood film catalog.
Just too profoundly gay for me! Even as a musician!
fair use...
++++
That’s what I was thinking but I have no idea if it is really applicable.
Queen = Fags
‘Nuff said.
“That is true with BMI but ASCAP seems to be the group in question and no such exception is mentioned in the article.”
I gave a previous post outlining the three exceptions an artist may make under ASCAP.
If you don’t have time for the whole thing, skip to about the 2:00 minute mark

Now I want Trump to keep using it.
Team Trump knows what its doing, I am sure.
If he knew every song he wanted to play, had purchased in the past or currently purchases (retail) CDs of all the artists and music he wants played, Why cant he share the music he has paid for already with people that he wants to, regardless of the size of the venue?
Big names bitch about this all the time and its always bunk.
Agreed! Freddy wouldn’t care, he was always about the music and the fans, the stadiums. Freddy would just laugh.
Brian May is the political one. Brilliant, but dumb as a rock at the same time..
“YOUD better dig deeper. No one has ever tried to argue that in court and its a dubious proposition.”
I already did. As you say, it is a dubious proposition to which I had already agreed to. But just because it is dubious does not make disappear.
If I was President Trump, ALL of them would be AUDITED immediately, then I would put ALL OF THEM on the NO FLY LIST!
They pay the ASCAP fees, they can use whatever they want.
Shut up sissy boy.
I don’t think it falls under Fair Use but it does fall under ASCAP. If the Trump campaign paid the required public performance fee, they can tell Queen to go stick it. Or Queen can withdraw their music from ASCAP and forgo any ASCAP royalties.
Actually, if you were talking to a group of rights lawyers, they would tell you yes. That many people would be considered a public playing.
G E Smith is doing a fine job. Big gig lots of exposure. Hopefully his union friends and peers are digging this opportunity that has been offered to Smith.
I did not know that....
You learn something new every day.
I try NOT to know what singers/actors think.
Clint collection. cool.
I have Cagney :)
Alice Cooper is conservative, or at least right of center.
Who cares?
ATTENTION QUEEN - if the song played for less than 30 seconds you’ve got nothing to say about it.
