As presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump arrived in Cleveland Monday afternoon, he was greeted by NBC Today co-host Matt Lauer hectoring him about the “tone” of the GOP convention, which had barely started: “There’s been so much violence in the country in the last couple of weeks. People are on edge, they’re tense. You add to that the passion that comes with political debate and there are people who are truly afraid that things could boil over here in Cleveland.”
In the interview, aired on Tuesday morning, Lauer demanded Trump promise to keep convention speakers in line: “Would you be willing to make a pledge to speak to everyone involved in this convention and say, ‘Please tone down the rhetoric’?...So can you say to the people who are going to take to that podium this week, ‘No personal attacks, no vitriol, keep it civil’?”

I read that “demand” as a warning that democrats are prone to violence whenever their intentions are clarified.

Last night was completely different from the 2012 convention. In that particular convention, a skillful surgeon carefully excised the balls, backbones, and guts from every man who spoke, or attended, except Clint Eastwood. That accounted for the pained expressions on their faces when the camera panned the audience for their response, which was like the fright of a vampire seeing the first glimmerings of the morning sun.
Good! Keep talking little Matt this will draw attention to the RNC convention. ....People will be curious and tune in...so thanks Little matt for advertising the convention for free ...hehehe it will bring a record-breaking viewing rating!

Matt Lauer, the mighty ombudsman of the Republican party. He must be impressed with his own wisdom, righteousness, purity.
As I was watching the convention I was thinking, “oh my, CNN/MSNBC must be having conniptions”. These speakers were full-on body slamming HRC. It was truth to power and they couldn’t take it.
We can’t help it if the dems have chosen a race baiting, lying, criminal as a candidate. Tone it down? I hope the volume just gets louder as the week goes on. I hope we preempt topics they’ll be covering too.
In that case, there’s only one thing to do. Pump up the volume!
Translation: they are telling the viewers what we have tried to hide! They have ordinary people calling for change and law and order! They’re stirring up the peasants!
Nobody is listening to these talking heads...they just haven’t realized it yet.
