Statement on Melania Trump Speech

"In writing her beautiful speech, Melania's team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. Melania’s immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success.”

-Jason Miller, Senior Communications Advisor

I had no idea that Michelle was from Slovenia.

Melania's daddy was an apparatchik in the Slovenian Communist Party.

I must say, capitalism has been good for Melania. Capitalism is good for those who share Melania's values.

If we elect Trump, there is a chance capitalism will continue to be good for all of us.

It’s pretty funny, actually. The Democrats can’t very well criticize the contents of Melania’s speech, if it sounds like Michelle’s Obama’s! By putting the one sentence in that’s the same, they assure that everyone will go back and listen to Michelle Obama’s speech for reinforcement of its words and content and will sound foolish in the extreme if they consider criticizing the very same platitude-filled speech from Melania.

Well done...great post ! :-)

And the thing is, Melania did NOT say the sames words, in the same way, as the MOOCH did. This is a FRAUD/HOAX, perpetrated on the gullible and fools, whom they know will just swallow this lie as whole cloth.

Sadly, many here believed it, sans checking.

The words have been changed, then, because Melania’s speech and the MOOCH’s are in DIFFERENT WORDS; not exactly the same words, in the same places! You have been taken for a ride !

They are wound up about 30 seconds of similarity - what about the other 97% of Melania’s speech??

It would be generous of you to provide the words of Mooch and the corresponding words of Melania. If we could see the difference it would blow the entire hoax by the media out of the water.

The libs have gone ape-sh** over it.

Someone’s head has to roll, because this appears to be a very nasty setup of an innocent Melania Trump.

One of the statements she made in the speech is from Rick Ashley, “never, ever, let you down.”

She was rickrolled by one or more writers. They were sending a coded message to the liberal press, who at Vox.com tweeted the “plagiarism” almost in real time. DJT had better set someone to work on ferreting out the mole.

Sometimes with music we might hear portions of one song that might have similar sounds to another.

Well, I saw it in the statement. “included fragments that reflected her own thinking.”

In English, that means “copied stuff she agreed with”.

And yeah, I’ve been here fifteen years and supporting Trump so I could troll this single press statement. You found me out, Sherlock. Sheesh.

It’s going to be a long, tough campaign if we expect Trump, the Trump family and all his campaign staff and supporters to be completely original and error free.

Might be a speechwriter’s mistake. Might be intentional to generate controversy or to set a trap, Team Trump has done it before. Maybe the Mooch got it from somewhere else and they know it.

If the small passage was different enough from the Mooch speech to be beyond reasonable comparison, Trump’s side would just deny it, but they are going with the speechwriters “included fragments” angle. I’d call that a tacit admission that the lines are very similar.

Doesn’t change the fact that the future First Lady gave a terrific speech, or that the night was a refreshing, effective blow against Crooked Hillary.

I support Trump, but I don’t expect his campaign to be perfect all the time. At this point, it looks like a PR error, but Trump has survived and taken advantage of worse looking situations.

Perhaps you should heed the wisdom of Sergeant Hulka.

They didn’t exactly admit to that. They said they used “fragments” of Melania’s thinking, so I think some of the speech was her exact quotes (that part wasn’t, although the message contained was based on her ideals I’m sure). They haven’t admitted the speech writers lifted the lines from Michelle’s speech.

We're all going to have to contribute generously to FR just to pay for the increased bandwidth needed to comply with the inevitable Melania picture "rule." If I stare into those eyes too long I'll quit smoking, lose weight, and suddenly recall my alien abduction in vivid detail.

As for her predecessor: I expect that once she is released back into the wild Bigfoot sightings will skyrocket.

No, they said fragments that reflected her own thinking, not fragments of her thinking. It’s different.

If she or a speechwriter liked the words, shuffled ‘em up a little and used ‘em, I’d hardly call it malicious plagiarism or an endorsement of Michelle Obama.

It’ll blow over or Team Trump will figure out a way to use it to advantage. Hell, maybe they did it knowing it would get under the skin of the lefties in and out of the press.

The similarity is what it is, and pretending it isn’t there isn’t going to change it. I’m sure when Trump wins in a landslide it’ll seem trivial.
