That’s not what any of this was about. The rules for next time will be decided in January and after. This was a temper tantrum to make Trump look bad, because they hate Trump more than Hillary.

Close primaries in exchange for primary voting only. Cruz would never agree to rules forbidding caucuses.
To: phoneman08
Yep. Cruz only won 3 primaries including his home state.

Let them walk out to the hungry BLM thugs.
It won’t be long they will be banging on the locked doors,
Yelling, screaming and begging to cast their vote for Trump.

If Cruz is in any way part of something like this, it is the end of his political career, and the only way for him to live this down would be to switch parties. Further, it will make him enough of a lightning rod such that he will have a hard time as a lobbyist or any other position related in any way to his political career.

I once liked this guy a lot. Everything he does now just makes me really glad that he lost. He is not a nice guy. And I would no longer call him a conservative.

Re: The original agreement between team Trump and team Cruz allowed Cruz
The original agreement was between the first and 2d debates when all candidates agreed and signed that they would support the Republican nominee. Cruz signed that, as did Trump and all 17 of them.
