Cruz Gripes Ahead of RNC Speech: Media Played ‘Decisive Role’ in Trump’s Nomination
Mediaite ^ | 07/18/2016 | Alex Griswold

Republican Texas Senator and former presidential candidate Ted Cruz may be speaking at the Republican National Convention this week, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t willing to call out those who he believe cost him the race against Donald Trump.

“Four weeks before we dropped out, we were winning the race…” Cruz said in a podcast interview with Politico’s Glenn Thrush. “In the 30 days before Indiana primary, Trump got $500 million in free media, 90 percent was positive. What the media said on every station is, ‘Trump is unbeatable, he can’t be beaten,’ while he’s losing. He’d lose state after state after state and the media would say he can’t be beaten.”

He explained that many of the major mainstream media players were “liberal Democrats” who wanted Hillary Clinton to win the presidency. “They believed Donald was the easiest candidate for Hillary to beat, and I think many of them wanted him to win the nomination. I don’t think it was innocent decision-making behind this.”

“I think the media’s going to have to assess the role they played. And to be honest, I think they played a role for Hillary as well in defeating [Bernie Sanders],” Cruz said. “We saw the media as decision-makers in primaries in a way that we have never seen before.”

“I think Hillary’s nomination and I think Donald Trump’s nomination, I think the media played decisive roles in both of them,” Cruz concluded.

This is a clear sign of a mentally deranged person. This man is guided by his faith? I don't think so..he won't let go and every time I hear him talk like this, I get the sense that he is a real piece of work at home; a real abusive man.

No, rejecTED, you can claim a lion’s share of the credit for that yourself. The primary season took too long and you revealed yourself to be just another politician, albeit with conservative creds. Not sure of the level of sincerity, though. Very disappointing. Now STFU and follow Reagan’s Rule!

“This is a clear sign of a mentally deranged person”

You have that right. Trump won in spite of the media. Cruz is living in an alternate universe.

I’m having a hard time trying to recall when Trump was losing “state after state after state”.

I liked Ted Cruz. So much so that I believed he would win the nomination. Once he was out, and Trump was destined to be the nominee, he should have thrown his support behind him at his exit or at the least, shut up and wait until his speech at the convention to endorse him.

I am willing to bet that there is more hype to this by the media to keep the flames going, But still, it is over and unless Cruz is doing this so the RNC will support his 2018 Senate bid, there should be no reason for Cruz to say more than the primary is over, he lost and now it is time to get behind the nominee.

Cruz is right, but not in the way he thinks. The Media did play an outsized role in Trump's nomination by showcasing what they thought were his most extreme positions in order to paint the GOP as racist and xenophobic.

It just turned out that many Americans thought Trump's proposals were common sense.

If only every single form of media had clamped down harder on leaks of muslim and illegal alien violence, Cruz could have won.

Since they did not, the candidate those forces fear enough to physically attack won.

All other factors were extraneous.

You lost. Trump won and you signed a pledge to support the winner. Your word as of today is crap. You are not a Christian or a conservative.

He still doesn’t get it.
He was NEVER leading and the moment he picked Beck to support him, he was DONE.

Leadership is picking the right people for the right job.

90% of the media was negative and he was never leading in the race. What a sore loser, but let him destroy what is left of his career.

Pray America wakes
