Has US base in turkey been seized by Turkey
Twitter feed | Self

Seems Twitter feeds are being blocked on news about the base being held hostage. Why? Past 4 hours. Has the base been invaded by Turkey?

How could we have our own base be breached and not secure?

Historically Turkey wanted us there as a deterrent to Russia, and they still need that. They just want the protection from the north while they help ISIS spread radicalism to the south; I doubt they want us out altogether. After all, our “president” just publicly supported him against those devoted to Ataturk’s legacy (which helped forge our Cold War bond with them originally).

If the Base has Nukes then Obama will use the coup to get them to Iran

There are some generators on Incirlik, but it’ll be strategic buildings only. For the dorms and housing....zero support and this time of year, you really need AC. I’m guessing most folks are hanging out and sipping beer....waiting till Monday to see what happens. The Germans are also on Incirlik and probably doing the same thing.

If the power is still cut come Tuesday morning....then you can expect some irate folks due to the temperature. Food supply won’t be an issue for a week or so, but it’ll be curious how this is handled.

I was deployed there a couple of times in the 90s as a Marine. Could not trust the Turk Airforce and the juandarma were loyal to whoever is in powe at the time. They have back up power and plenty of bottled water. Was there when BJC gave them Patriot missles to protect them against an attact from Syria.US Airforce security was totally useless. We bought shotguns out in town and kept them under our racks for self protection.

Can you really not fill in the tactical blanks with that question? I can think of numerous scenarios where that would be the case.

I’m still pissed at Turkey for not letting our 4th ID move into Iraq from the North making them go around and come in from the South, during the War.

The Obama Administration has never seen a Middle Eastern Spring event that it didn't want to involve itself in. Obama has been getting close to Iran and Iran is the mortal enemy of Turkey.

The US base probably has been seized, as the US has probably been messing in the internal affairs of Turkey.

Obama likes to pick sides among Muslims and I would wager that his Administrations finger prints are on some key Turkish events.

When they screw you, screw back harder.

My best revenge on them, has been to have collected a pension for 30 years. If I had it to do all over again? Well..........

According to the Incirlik FaceBook page, air operations against ISIS have resumed and base operations have not been affected.

Me too.

At the time I said we should split Iraq along ethic lines and reward Turkey for that perfidy with a newly minted Kurdistan on their border.

It's not too late...

Right. The same Facebook page that claimed there was no gunfire or explosions earlier, as the Turkish police were attacking and arresting the Incirlik Turkish commander and 10 officers. More unicorns and skittles.... oh... and rainbows.

Dad has been asking him to write a book for about 20 years, he keeps saying, “Not now.”

But, I love it when he comes over and he and my dad talk and we listen and ask questions.
