Trump to Pick Mike Pence, Says Source

Donald Trump is planning to announce that Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is his choice for his vice presidential running mate, according to a Republican with direct knowledge of the decision.

As Trump narrowed in on his choice of Pence, the two men spent time at both Trump's golf resort in New Jersey in early July and at the Indiana governor's mansion this week.

In addition to testing the men's chemistry together, Trump was reportedly impressed with Pence's calm demeanor, his experience on Capitol Hill and as a governor, and Pence's potential to assist Trump in governing, should the ticket win in November.

The announcement will be made publicly at an event at Trump Tower at 11 a.m. Friday morning.

WE can all fantasize on Trumps picks, my meaningless unsolicited picks would be:;

Dr.Carson for Surgeon General. - Gen. Flynn for Secty. of Defense - Christie for Atty Gen. - and although I think Gingrich is the best of the lot and Trump could use Gingrich as VP, I think Newt would make a great Chief of staff- and Pence would get the VP nod.

I hope Trump announces more than his VP, so as to cut off the Press and their stories about disappointed and disgruntled VP candidates, and how Trump used them, mislead them, and screwed them.

I'll see what happens when I get in from fishing tomorrow night. -Tom

To suck air from 0bama’s appearance tonight and the frothing over the ESPY’s BLM endorsement and the BLM day of rage.

Like I said, clever timing.

Pence may be boring, but there’s no doubt he COULD be president so he fits that test. I know some are upset over RFRA and his caving on that but Trump really doesn’t have an agenda on social issues so this is a match with Pence. They’re both solid on abortion though which one issues that shouldn’t be considered “social”. The other social ones are on the backburner and that’s okay with me. So on balance, I respect this choice.

The bill was poorly written. Was certain to be challenged in court and fail. It would then become case law and we would be stuck with it just as we are Row vs Wade Pence stepped up to the plate and saved it from becoming case law for all the USA It will to be presented later after we have a strong conservative SCOTUS When it come up again , it will be decided in our favor at the top levels
Learn from previous mistakes and be patient.

As far as I can tell, all reports of this connect back to Roll Call.

Without confirmation from another source, this is still just a wild rumor.

Pence is no Johnson. He’s a good Christian stable family man. Read some of the battles It posted above. He’s a man of principle

Regardless of the merits of the bill, Pence initially signed it. And it was his sweaty, cowering capitulation and backtracking upon outside pressures that left the defining impression, during that horrid press conference of his.

I’m sick to death of spineless GOP-er’s who immediately fold and back down at media-driven PC-campaigns, and that goes tenfold when it comes from the depraved faggot lobby.

I have nothing but contempt for Mike Pence.

The only thing I know abot Pence is that he went belly-up on the religious freedom bill in IN.

So I guess he's a standard issue GOPer.

Ugh is right.

Pence and Ryan are pals.

I don’t know what Trump was thinking, unless it was listening to his children, who seem eager for Trump to become an accepted, Establishment figure.

I lost all respect for Pence when he caved on Indiana’s religious liberty bill. Total squish and coward who does not seem to recognize that the Left is a malevolent force that must be fought at every turn.

You need to talk to people who were involved in writing or pushing the bill. It wasn’t Pence fault. It was their’s.
One of the ones I spoke with said he realized after the. fact that “they were set up “ by one of the members on the committee. He realized the mans agenda too late
Bill was rushed thru without proper reading and vetting.
Pence had no choice but to keep it out of the court system.
If you don’t understand that YOU have an agenda

Newt is too old. Christie is too liberal.

And they are much better placed at the Chief of Staff and Attorney General positions, anyway.

I'm not sure any other Republican Pence's age or younger is as qualified for the VP role. Not a bad pick. The guy we dream of is probably not out there.
