Trump’s Glide Path (to victory)
Dilbert.com ^ | 7/13/2016 | Scott Adams

Posted on 07/13/2016 7:29:23 AM PDT by GilGil

The new Quinnipiac poll shows Trump now leading in 4-out-of-5 battleground states. Most of the polling was done before the FBI announced its email server decision. Do you know what else was happening during that time to influence polls?

Answer: Nothing

In other words, Trump didn’t do anything outrageous for a few weeks. That’s all he needs to do from here on out – more nothing – to win in a landslide. The “Crooked Hillary” harpoon he landed a few months ago is bleeding her out. Trump’s glide path to victory involves picking his cabinet and acting serious for a few months. That’s all it will take. (Expect a few mini-outrages just for fun.)

I do believe that Trump needs to do a quick review everytime before he just hits the send button in response to things.

I am in full agreement: The major variable is Trump’s ability to stay disciplined between now and the election.

No. Scott didn’t say it first. I’ve believed it all along never once consulting Scott’s words or thoughts.

Enough is enough is all that is prevalent in this country. Obama and Hillary assured that.

Trump is just hitting second gear.

Once he goes full throttle after the Convention, this will be a blowout landslide for Trump.

Every BLM protest, every hearing over the lies, every ISIS attack, every time another of Obama’s failures are underscored, more independents flee from her.

If Trump stays Presidential like he has for the past several weeks it will not be close.

I tend to agree. From here on in Mr. Trump can just coast.

Maybe he should take a very much deserved rest for a month or two to recharge the batteries and spend time with the family. Then a refreshed Donald Trump can come out with both guns blazing.

BLM, isis, and the obama/clinton machine will do the rest. They can’ t help it!

A common expression is: “Something beats nothing.”

If Trump provides non-controversy (Nothing) then he won’t get bad publicity. Which is good.

If Hillary does anything questionable (which is likely) then that becomes “Something” for the news media to latch on to. The media needs to cover “something” because “nothing” is so boring.

“Something beats nothing” — which means Hillary’s mis-steps are actually likely to get coverage because Trump has wisely decided to become boring and non-controversial.

Entirely concur that Donald Trump should remain with more "prepared statements" rather than off-the-cuff Tweets and similar at this point.
Many left-leaning independents whom I know now refer to her as "Crooked Hillary" in casual discussion. That nickname has really stuck!

Er, no. I said it first. Scott was second, you’re third :)

I said in August Trump would win the GOP nomination in a landslide and I’ve been very clear about the general: it will NOT be a “landslide” (which requires CA and NY and MA, and MN) but it will be a very big Electoral College victory (I think 320-330 EVs and a somewhat narrower 3-point popular vote margin.

Trump would have to overcome at least 3 million votes to win CA-—not entirely unrealistic, because that’s only a flip of 1.5m, of which 150,000 alone can come from distraught Bernie voters. But it’s still Everest.

Trump has wisely decided to become boring and non-controversial.

Trump has also changed the environment enough so that calling on a sitting U.S. Supreme Court Justice to resign, and that she is a disgrace and her brain is shot, is now boring and non-controversial.

And it is. Because Trump got her to expose her mindset.

I think even her base (some to many of them) will end up voting Trump because enough is enough.

Most interesting is that as of today both the NYT and WaPo have come out agreeing with Trump that she should be keeping her yap shut.

Of course they damn him with faint praise, but in contrast with what they’ve often said about Trump, this shows that even the worst detractors are viewing him seriously and giving credit where due.

This also vindicates Trump regarding the comments of the Mexican-American judge presiding over the Trump University case. If a Supreme Court judge can be biased, then the Mexican-American judge can be biased. This lets Trump off the hook.

“By October it will appear as if Trump is running unopposed”

I think you said this a couple of weeks ago and I agreed with you then as I do today. IMO you will see Hillary top out at about 46% and after that she will stay there and Trump will continue to rise. By Oct he should be significantly ahead.

Newt has said that Hillary will struggle to stay above 40%. He said she will most likely settle in the high 30’s. He also said that if Trump were down 5% one week before the election he would win in a landslide.

It does not look like he will be anywhere near down 5% more like he will be up 5-10%.

In other words, Trump didn’t do anything outrageous for a few weeks. That’s all he needs to do from here on out – more nothing – to win in a landslide.

But anything Trump does- or doesn't do, will be portrayed as outrageous by the enemedia from now 'til November. And many of the low info voters will buy it. It ain't over yet!

In order for Hillary to regain the narrative, it would require muslims, illegal immigrants, and BLMs to lay low until the election. Fat chance that will happen.

No one said it was over.

You have to fight like hell.

But you should recognize victory when you see it, otherwise you will lose every time.

The other wild card is the stock market. Don’t think the markets will hold up much longer.
