Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad said Monday that he doesn't agree with the decision by U.S. Rep. Steve King to display a Confederate flag on his congressional office desk.

"I grew up in the North, Mr. Speaker, and the Confederate flag was a symbol of pride of the South," King said.
He said the country had healed through the Civil War Reconstruction era and decades after and didn't like the division that occurred after nine people were killed.
There's that meme again; everyone can't have a Confederate flag because of that Roof doofus.
The governor should mind his own business.

I’m guessing just to stick a finger in the eye of the politically correct crowd. I had zero desire to display a Confederate flag either until the PC crowd told me that I couldn’t.
Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad must be pretty shallow and thin-skinned to worry about an inanimate object on someone's desk! Our economy is a mess, race relations are worse than ever; babies are being killed by the millions; our culture is under siege; our borders open and unprotected resulting in the influx of diseases, criminals, and terrorists.
And Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad is worried about a little flag on someone's desk! Amazing! Or, could it be that Branstad wants instead to fan the flames of racial hatred. Is that smart?

They were already trying to ban the Confederate Battle flag. Roof just gave them an excuse to push the issue. I have seen photos of him destroying the Stars and Stripes, much like Black lives matter stomping on the flag. Should we ban the Stars and Stripes as BLM does not like it either.
