Late Thursday afternoon, Gov. Greg Abbotts office found itself dealing with a traumatic and wholly unexpected situation.
The governor, who was on vacation with his family in Jackson Hole, Wyo., was on his way to St. Johns Hospital. He had been accidentally scalded with hot water and had extensive second- and third-degree burns on both legs below the knees and both feet.
Matt Hirsch, the governors communications director, began preparing a statement about the injury and how it might require the governor to curtail his schedule for the next couple of weeks, including, perhaps, skipping the Republican National Convention, which will get underway next Monday in Cleveland.

Please, if anybody knows Governor Abbott or can get the word to him, apply emu oil to the burns. It works so well it is MIRACULOUS.
You hijacked your title for an emu oil PSA.
I would think you keep your wife and friends quite amused.
Keep it up!
Was that some poor attempt at humor?
Well, it was not funny, not even remotely.
Cold water! Fast! I burned my stomach when I went to pour boiling hot water into the strainer! Went and jumped into the pool! Stopped the burn immediately...took months for the red area to disappear though! It kills the pain.
They dont say how it happened, but the guy is wheelchair bound. I would take a broad guess and say maybe a bath was not double checked to make sure the water was not too hot. That or a cooking pot of water may have spilled on his lap.
The man is confined to a wheelchair in case you don’t know.
I don’t know what you are getting at. My ONLY goal is to help out Governor Abbott. I know from personal experience that Emu Oil works wonders on burns of all kinds. I was actually astonished at how well and quickly the emu oil healed my SEVERE leg burn. Oh, and I am NOT pitching anything. I am NOT in the emu oil business.
My kids used to listen to Emu music years ago. I didn’t know an oil came out of it.
I read somewhere else that it was a pot of hot water. Some sort of cooking mishap.
I notice the author, Jonathan Tilove managed to get his little dig into Lt Gov. Dan Patrick.
I have never heard of Jonathan Tilove before, but I would bet dollars to doughnut that his mother suffered from distemper before he was born.
What's your problem? Are you a pharmaceutical rep?
Since the governor is paralyzed from the waist down I’m hoping he didn’t feel it. Prayers up for him.
I don't know if he is but a lot of people have a prejudice against natural cures. My wife and I are always arguing about vitamin C. She claims the best vitamin C comes in a pill and I say we have plenty of it in the form of natural limes. That's why I never buy her vitamin C pills when she requests it because I consider it utterly ridiculous when we are surrounded by NATURAL Vitamin C here in Florida in the form of limes and lemons.
I just found it funny. It’s not there anymore, but the end of the title said something like, “(Use Emu Oil!)”
I have nothing against natural cures. I just found it funny you added what you did to the article’s title.
Yeah, well I want the Governor (or somebody near him) to be aware of the healing effects of emu oil on all types of burns, including severe burns. It’s NOT quackery. I have used emu oil on all sorts of burns, including the time I had a severe leg burn, for about 20 years. I just want to help out Governor Abbott.
Maybe just a coincidence, but if one is going to Jackson Hole, Yellowstone isnt far off. Maybe a hot Springs accident?
The argument for supplements is that we don’t live very close to nature, and so dosages in food are often not enough to cope with the reactions to unnatural levels of stress and toxins we experience.
