What was the “slave” mentality? Do as little work as possible, since there was no monetary reward no matter how hard you busted your azz. This is the reason immigrant blacks with no history of recent slave ancestors outperform US born blacks. Sadly the democrat party is keeping the slave mentality going with free stuff equivalent to a family of 4 making $57k income.
