Feds ask for 27-month delay in release of Clinton staff emails
The Hill ^ | 06/30/16 | Julian Hattem

The Obama administration on Thursday asked a federal court to delay until October 2018 the release of 14,000 pages of emails from aides to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In a court filing on Wednesday, administration lawyers said the State Department miscalculated the amount of material it would need to process the documents as part of a lawsuit with the conservative organization Citizens United.

As a result, the government asked for a 27-month delay to release the emails, which were originally due out on July 21.

“State deeply regrets these errors, and is working diligently to correct them as quickly as possible,” the lawyers said.

Citizens United has sued for emails between a handful of State Department officials and people at the Clinton Foundation and a consulting firm, Teneo Consulting, which has ties to the Clintons.

Among other errors, State officials said than an initial test looking at just 300 emails, which was used to calculate the amount of time necessary to process the emails, neglected to include keyword searches of the messages. Instead, they only searched the “To” and “From” lines of the messages, which failed to catch many emails.

State Department officials also “inadvertently” labeled some email attachments as irrelevant to the open records request, without checking them to make sure.

The department has long had reputation for responding slowly to requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), with delays spanning years.

But the demands have grown dramatically as Clinton has proceeded through the presidential election process, and the department's current estimates can sometimes seem comically long.

Might as well be 27 million years. If delayed 27 months, they will end up down the memory hole forever.

Not really cheering for the whole iea of hacking, but, at this point, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings for Wikileaks, or Putin, or Gruccifer 2.0 to show us what they have. In poker terms, I hope someone pushes all in.

Lately it’s almost as if Obama and Hillary have made a deal to cover up each others’ misdeeds, assuming Hillary wins the election.

If the judge throws a half dozen of the highest ranking bureaucrats in jail until the Clinton staff eMails are produced he will have all the eMails on his desk within 10 days.

Any answer other than hell no is unacceptable and would be further proof of the cesspool-ization of our joke of a judiciary system.

After the 27 month delay, a “Special Investigation” will be demanded and of course approved. And that will continue for years............Very clever.

Trump should offer to pay to hire the staffers. Hire 100 temps and pay them 30 dollars for each page of emails. I could easily read 100 pages a day and determine if they are relevant to the request, 14000 pages, 30 dollars a page, = 420,000 dollars. Each temp brings home 3000 dollars a day for reading 100 emails.

100 emails a day time 100 temps, = 1.4 days of work. Multiply by 7 due to government inefficiency = 9.8 days of work. Add one week to this for a vetting process to the new hires. This could be done in less than two weeks for less than 500,000 dollars. Also add in unexpected government delays in hiring and costs so double the price and it is now 1 million dollars and 28 days.

Donald should go on TV and offer to pay for it the next morning at 0800.

One question that eludes me is why is the justice department is even involved with running interference for a private charity. Actually I know the answer to that. The State Department is corrupt to the core. However the State Department is under the President of The United States and thus at present Obama is definitely covering for Hillary.

Hillary and Obama despise each other. He is supporting her because each can bring each other down, politically that is. (As an aside I must apologize for using the word “down” in anything that concerns the Clintons and Obama.) It is a marriage made in hell, “kinda” like Bills marriage to Hillary.

If I were the judge in the Citizens United case, I would appoint a special master to oversee the processing of the emails, order State to hire more processors on a full time basis, require that the processors be experienced enough to do their jobs, and order that the emails be released on a weekly basis as they are processed.

Not really cheering for the whole idea of hacking, but, at this point, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings for Wikileaks, or Putin, or Gruccifer 2.0 to show us what they have. In poker terms, I hope someone pushes all in.

Who is the greater threat, Wikileaks, Putin, or Gruccifer or the United States Government of the Executive, Judicial, and Legislative?

Wikileaks has exposed secrets that should not have been made public. Wikileaks has also exposed vast corruption and illegality in our government. Gruccifer has not exposed anything that is detrimental to the nation. He has exposed things we need to know. Gruccifer is one of the good guys, I think. Putin is definitely one of the bad guys but has exposed nothing and he knows all. The best hackers in the world work for him. He understands bribery, blackmail, murder, and the means to be all powerful. Putin does know everything that was on Hillary's server. If he does not the most sophisticated hacking group in the world is incompetent. I assure they are very competent. Putin knows what was on the server, without any doubt. So do the Chinese, North Korea and Iran and probably many of our allies.

My list of danger to the American public is below:
The corrupt United States government of the:

executive

judicial

legislative.

Putin, he is a tyrant and smart tyrant. In effect he is the new Czar but with expansionist plans. He is not a communist but a tyrant.

Wikileaks, their leaks have been mostly good as to expose the inner workings of bad things in government. They have also exposed things that have hurt our security.

Guccifer, is last. He has exposed a few things that are very good to know about the corruption of the present administration. He has exposed nothing at yet that hurts our nation. Guccifer is obviously very talented. I think Guccifer is working for Putin. Guccifer works obviously give Putin advantages against the United States. Why did this man allow himself to be extradited to the United States? Unless he is insane all he needed to do is pay 250 dollars for a plane ticket to Moscow. Guccifer is either mentally unbalanced, a fool or working for Putin.

I think we are beginning to live in interesting times and that is not good.

An extra 27 months to respond to a discovery request because State is just too busy to produce the documents within the time required by the Federal Rules???????? Unbelievable! I hope the judge slams them.

This judge won’t allow it. He has been insisting on reasonableness thus far.
