Who’s even more powerful than the king? The person who gets to pick the king. And as of this morning that person is, quite possibly, FBI Director James Comey.
Today’s Morning Joe reported breaking news from the New York Times: Attorney General Loretta Lynch has decided that she will accept the recommendation of the FBI regarding its investigation of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails. If Comey recommends against an indictment of Hillary, that would lift a huge cloud that has been dragging her candidacy down. It would put Hillary in a very strong position to become the next president. But should Comey recommend the indictment of Hillary, her candidacy would effectively be destroyed. Dems might scramble to replace her as their candidate, but in any case Donald Trump would be well-positioned to win the election.

Trump has been relentless on the emails - the GOP establishment and the other GOP candidates were meek on this issue.
The keys to the election are still in Wall Street and Riyadh. They may be mad that they overpaid for a felon, but other arrangements can be made.
I think the Dems are waiting until it’s too late to nominate and the only way for them to have a candidate is to have one picked by the Party. There’s little democracy in the Democratic Party.

Things aren’t so binary. Comey could recommend against indictment, ignoring the findings of his subordinates, for example.
A Clinton indicted? Surely you jest.
He will prove himself either a patriot or a traitor.
And then Lynch could :"Accept" them and drag out any action until it was too late to be meaningful. It all lawyer speak and smoke.
Comey will lose either way. If he recommends indictment, he will wind up dead in a park somewhere.
If he doesn't indict, then it's obvious the fix is in. Trump will run on that (because it is obvious to everyone that Hillary is guilty as sin!)

Comey doesn’t and can’t control the outcome. Further, Lynch’s word is worthless. She can say that she isn’t going to decode, then she can order an underling how to handle it. Publicly, it looks like she didn’t decide.
Lots of FReepers from the law enforcement community have defended Comey as a straight-shooter and a stand-up guy.
The way he has bent over for Operation “What, Muslims Did This?” after Orlando leads me to believe he had been seriously compromised.
James Comey is still a traitor to the United States of America.
I refuse to believe that Obama would allow this to happen unless he knew what was going to be recommended and...regardless of what the recommendation is...and that it would be exactly what he wants.
