Gross appearance of impropriety in AG Lynch private meeting with Bill Clinton
Legal Insurrection ^ | June 29, 2016 | William A. Jacobson

Posted on 06/30/2016 6:15:16 AM PDT by Zakeet

Of course Bill Clinton arranged the meeting to influence the investigation of Hillary, even if only grandchildren, travel and golf were discussed.

What do you call an Attorney General who meets privately with the husband of a person under FBI investigation, and only discloses it when asked?

Loretta Lynch.

This is the last straw for me, when it comes to Lynch.

I opposed my former law school classmate's nomination because her congressional testimony indicated she would be too political. Events have confirmed my fears, from suggestions that "hate speech" might be prosecutable, to the threat to sue people who disagree with the administration on climate change, her political grandstanding on the North Carolina bathroom law, to the attempt to edit out references to Islam and ISIS from the 911 transcript of the Orlando terrorist.

None of that is quite as outrageous as the news today that Lynch met privately with Bill Clinton at the Phoenix airport for 30 minutes, a meeting that was revealed only when a local news crew asked her about it at a press conference. ABC15 reports:

Amid an ongoing investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of email and hours before the public release of the Benghazi report, US Attorney General Loretta Lynch met privately with former President Bill Clinton.

The private meeting took place on the west side of Sky Harbor International Airport on board a parked private plane.

Former President Clinton was visiting the Phoenix area and arrived to Sky Harbor Monday evening to depart.

Sources tell ABC15 Clinton was notified Lynch would be arriving at the airport soon and waited for her arrival.

Lynch was arriving in Phoenix for a planned visit as part of her national tour to promote community policing.

ABC15 asked Lynch about the meeting during her news conference at the Phoenix Police Department.

"I did see President Clinton at the Phoenix airport as he was leaving and spoke to myself and my husband on the plane," said Lynch.

The private meeting comes as Lynch's office is in charge of the ongoing investigation and potential charges involving Clinton's email server.

The private meeting also occurred hours before the Benghazi report was released publicly involving Hillary Clinton and President Obama’s administration.

Lynch said the private meeting on the tarmac did not involve these topics.

"Our conversation was a great deal about grandchildren, it was primarily social about our travels and he mentioned golf he played in Phoenix," said Lynch Tuesday afternoon while speaking at the Phoenix Police Department.

Sources say the private meeting at the airport lasted around 30 minutes.

"There was no discussion on any matter pending before the Department or any matter pending with any other body, there was no discussion of Benghazi, no discussion of State Department emails, by way of example I would say it was current news of the day, the Brexit decision and what it would mean," she said.

Neither Lynch nor Bill Clinton are dummies. They both know that such a private meeting creates the appearance of impropriety regardless of what was discussed. Bill Clinton's wife is being investigated by the FBI - why do you think he dropped in for a chat with Lynch?

Of course they didn't discuss the case. They didn't need to.

If there was no appearance of impropriety, why did Lynch wait until a local news crew, apparently tipped off, asked her about it?

It feeds a narrative of the Clintons acting like the fix is in, with Hillary repeatedly bragging that there is no way she's going to be indicted.

My theory:

1. Lynch arranged the meeting.
2. Of course the case was discussed and Bill got advance information to pass along.
3. There will be a big news drop on Friday or Saturday.

a. Shakeup in Obama’s cabinet.
b. An actual indictment.
c. etc.

Of course they didn’t discuss “the case.” They discussed her future career and retirement plans. Bill offered her the option of the Foster/Brown retirement portfolio or the Friends of Bill plan. Guess which one she took?

In a sane world, if a U.S. president learned his Attorney General met under questionable circumstances with a possible major witness, even possibly a defendant, in a Federal criminal investigation, that president would ask the AG to resign immediately.

But Obama is the president.....and it's a mad, mad, mad, etc. world today...and nothing will happen and no one in authority will care to get involved.

Now Lynch can recuse herself, her replacement-stooge will then decline to indict Hillary and Lynch’s hands are clean.

Any other AG would be under intense pressure to resign, and it is likely that disbarment proceedings would begin soon. This is an INCREDIBLY GROSS conflict of interest - it is one of those questions on a multiple choice exam that you eliminate because it is SO obviously wrong. There is no doubt about this - she is completely unfit to be the A.G., and unfit to be giving the FBI any orders.

WJC: “Loretta, do you know who Ron Brown was?”

No, that’s a little crass, even for Bill.

More likely was, “Hey, Loretta, I’m pretty sure that there’s going to be an opening at the Clinton Foundation starting in January. The position pays $1 million/year, plus some real generous benefits. Think on it a bit - I’d surely appreciate it if you could give me a name or two of people that you think would be interested. I’d prefer an attorney with some political experience. Thanks, gotta catch a plane...bye!”

“When she is not indicted we can refer to that as the “Phoenix Fix”.”

When she IS indicted by the Trump Dept. of Justice, the term “Phoenix Fix” will come to stand for a failed attempt at open and notorious corruption that results in the idiot/perp taking an extended vacation in the Graybar Hotel.

“It sounds to me as if the Clintons aren’t 100% certain that Obama and Lynch have her backside covered. That’s very interesting. Why doesn’t Hillary trust Obama? Lynch is Obama’s puppet; she is at DOJ to do Obama’s bidding and nothing else.

Let’s get something very clear, politicians do not meet on a private jet in an isolated spot at an airport to discuss their grandchildren! No. Hillary is worried.
Very interesting.”

I happen to agree. I’ve thought for a long time now that Obama does NOT want Hillary to win. Why? Easy answer: money. If she loses, the influence of the Clinton’s fades to zero in about 5 minutes. Further, Obama’s influence within Dem circles stays as high as ever - because he is the last Dem President at that point (just like Clinton was during Bush the Younger’s administration). That means that Obama will have a (criminal) Foundation just like Bill and Hillary, and rake in money like crazy for setting up deals and access. He learned the higher aspects of the art of “pay to play” from the Clintons, and he wants to be on the receiving end of that.

OTOH, if she wins, then HIS influence fades to zero in about 5 minutes, because SHE is the President, SHE is the go to person (or, more likely, Bill) to get access. Pay to play with the Clintons will go into hyperdrive, and all that Obama will have is a measly book and a diminishing schedule of speaking engagements as time passes.

Nope, Obama doesn’t want Clinton to win, not at all. He just can’t be open about it - he has to make it look like she failed all on her own, despite his “help.” That way he retains credibility among Dems, and also strokes his ego (”I’d have beaten Trump easily, I beat 2 better candidates than him, plus Hillary”).

Just remember, politics makes for strange bedfellows. I think it ironic that Obama may be Trump’s greatest ally.

“Lynch arranged the meeting.”

I'll bet it was Clinton who stalked Lynch. Lynch was in Phoenix for some publicized conference, whereas Clinton was ostensibly there to play golf. Clinton, who can play golf anywhere he wants to in the world, whenever he wants to, happened to choose to play in Phoenix on a day when it was 110 degrees? I don't buy it. I think it's even possible nothing substantive discussed. Bill Clinton just wanted to get in Lynch's face to gauge what she's thinking about HRC these days. Emotional warfare. Lynch should have refused to see him.

I don’t think so, he’s one of the laziest people I’ve seen in high public office (and he’s got LOTS of competition in that regard).

However, never underestimate the power of a Malignant Narcissist’s ego. He HAS to remain relevant, he HAS to do better than the Clintons. HAS TO.

Ego trumps natural laziness. [Pun not intended].

Because...Affirmative Action.

This kind of thing really ticks me off...almost as much as the people of this country giving power to people like this.

It does seem that way, doesn’t it? No matter what the issue/subject is, no one who can do something about Clinton or administration corruption etc., gets excited!

That may be true but in all fairness to Lynch she didn’t initiate the meeting. Bill “just happened” to be there and went over to talk to her. Don’t think for a minute he didn’t know that it would compromise her when it came to Hillary’s investigation. He knew exactly what he was doing.
