CIA chief Brennan looks at Turkish attack and sees a warning for Americans
Yahoo News ^ | June 29, 2016 | Daniel Klaidman

Posted on 06/29/2016 6:34:23 AM PDT by detective

Four hours after three suicide bombers killed at least 41 people and wounded hundreds more at Istanbul’s Ataturk airport, CIA Director John Brennan said the attacks bore the grim hallmarks of ISIS and warned that the fanatically violent Islamic terrorist group wants to conduct similar large-scale attacks in the United States.

“I am worried from the standpoint of an intelligence professional who looks at the capabilities of Daesh … and their determination to kill as many as people as possible and to carry out attacks abroad,” Brennan said in an exclusive interview at CIA headquarters with Yahoo News. Brennan credited effective homeland security measures and intelligence for the fact that ISIS has been unable to attack America directly — the Orlando and San Bernardino shootings were carried out by radicals inspired by ISIS but not under its control — but he believes the group will keep trying to penetrate American defenses.

“You look at what happened in the Turkish airport, these were suicide vests. It’s not that difficult to actually construct and fabricate a suicide vest … so if you have a determined enemy and individuals who are not concerned about escape, that they are going into it with a sense that they are going to die, that really does complicate your strategy in terms of preventing attacks.”

It is clear that the U.S. has no intelligence on who did this and had no warning.

"“I’d be surprised if Daesh is not trying to carry out that kind of attack in the United States.” Daesh is an acronym for the Arabic name of the Islamic State, better known as ISIS or ISIL."

There is a statement that gives us confidence in Obama administration intelligence.

"“We’ve yet to really thwart Daesh’s ability to reach beyond the Syria-Iraqi borders and put in place some of the plans and preparations to carry out attacks,” Brennan said. He added, “I am very concerned we have not had the success against Daesh in that environment as we’ve had in the core areas of Syria and Iraq.”"

There has been no success whatsoever by the Obama administration. It is clear that under Obama, America's multi-billion dollar intelligence bureaucracy is useless.

99% of the employees I see at airports are Muslims it seems. No matter what airport I fly into I see this. WTF America?

Sad thing is: I predicted this years ago when the new security measures resulted in endless lines at the TSA checkpoints.

We’re sitting ducks waiting to be X-rayed.

Second attack in an airport. Banning water and coke and frisking grandma won’t stop subhumans from killing people in an airport. Banning muslums will.

A warning, eh?

Well then, I guess it’s time to take away a few more of those Constitutionally protected rights.

That’s always helped keep us safe in the past.

Meanwhile, to not let Muslims into our country willy nilly is bigoted and hateful...

... Just ask most any so-called “progressive and they’ll assure that’s the case.

“It is clear that the U.S. has no intelligence on who did this and had no warning.”

Well, we wouldn’t want to offend them.

I don’t worry about America. When I see the tight focus our Community-Organizer-in-Chief has placed on using the military to fight global warming and to embrace diversity, I know we can handle the real dangers our country faces.

Wow.

The Obama Administration has just figured out that al Qaeda ( re branded ISIS/Daesh - same group, new names) poses a serious threat to America by using suicide attacks

They put 8 years and close to a trillion dollars in intelligence spending to good use.

To be fair, it was a muslim in the Fraud’s administration who just allegedly figured this out.

Maybe Brennan’s hoping the next president will keep him on for making this Captain Obvious announcement.

BULL $#!T

Two months ago the US ordered all US military and diplomatic dependents out of Turkey! At the same time Israel ordered its citizens out.

Somebody knew something was coming!

Obama says it does not matter if we call it radical islamic terrorism, yet he and his thugs ALWAYS call Isis either ISIL or Daesh, while most normal people do not. It is a fetish with them.

This stuff will eventually die down... once the west is completely converted to Islam. We just have to be patient and let Obama’s transformation of America play out.

IMO - There was an article last week about Turkey and Israel signing an agreement of some sort and the Turk signing said it was time to beyond this Israel/Arab conflict. Maybe this is a warning to other Muslim nations to get back in line. You are not permitted to talk with Israel!

It’s more than a fetish. It’s a deliberate slam on Israel, and their most trusted Republicans use the same terminology, too.

Back in the days after 9/11 spent a little time in counter terrorism

Bush put a huge effort into instituting effective, broad based measures and procedures

For Airports, passenger screening was only a small part of a larger security whole

Under Obama, our airport security has atrophied to the point of worthlessness and passenger screening has become a joke from a security perspective

Now passenger screening has very little to do with protecting passengers and , under Obama, has instead become a tool for conditioning Americans to surrender rights and power to government accept unreasonable government intrusions into their lives.

Out of all airports I have ever traveled through, Istanbul had the highness security. This was before 9/11. One wonders how much more of a pain in the rear increased security our airports will take to prevent attacks like the one in Turkey.
