German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Tuesday that the EU could survive a Brexit and warned Britain the union would not tolerate “cherry-picking” in upcoming negotiations on their future relations.

“The EU is strong enough to withstand Britain’s withdrawal,” she told the German parliament ahead of a crisis summit of the 28 member states in Brussels. […]

“We will ensure there are no negotiations based on the principle of cherry-picking,” she said to applause. “There must be and will be a noticeable difference between whether a country wants to be a member of the European Union family or not.”

She added: “Anyone wishing to leave this family cannot expect to lose all the obligations but keep the privileges. This applies to Britain as it does to everyone else.” …

Some left wing globalist site gets a couple “regret” emails and now it is “everyone” regrets their Brexit vote.

Of course we don’t know if the emails are authentic or if the people who did write them even voted or what way the voted for since it was a anonymous ballot.

At this point, it is just left wing sour grapes

“The U.K. imports 60% of their food. They may want to keep importing food.”

I’m sure the Brits can find suitable and delicious substitutes for knockwurst and weinerschnitzel.

Frau Merkel is right - you can’t have a divorce and take assets that aren’t yours to begin with out of your marriage.

UK can take it or leave it.

The Brits can import food from the US, Canda, Australia, New Zeeland. The Bear is the last place they should trade with.

Remember when Merkel defended German and Europe's sovereignty, "I vill NOT tolerate cherry-picking terms from our uninvited barbarian invaders!!"?

Me neither.

I’m sure another country would pick up some of the slack and trade with Britain.

Until the whole EU crumbles, I'm going to make it a point to buy some beer from the UK every time I buy beer (which is reasonably often).

“Anyone wishing to leave this family cannot expect to lose all the obligations but keep the privileges. This applies to Britain as it does to everyone else.”

So Madam Furher believes that the Brexit means Britain is forfeiting all the benefits of the EU, but still subject to the whims of the Reich... uh, I mean the EU. The Germans want to dominate Europe, the French have already surrendered without much (if any) resistance, and the British are resisting with all their might. This sounds like something from about 75 years ago.

Britain should bring back the death penalty.

That would greatly discourage many who mean no good. Won’t discourage the hardcore terrorists but it should be enough to discourage the criminals.

Can’t cherry pick? They should walk and tell the EU to shove it. What are they going to do? Send in troops?

Heard a Brit yesterday...had a restaurant....all supplies imported from EU countries only. Doesn’t know if he’s going to get cut off.
