WASHINGTON, June 28 (UPI) -- A tracking poll in the U.S. presidential election shows Democrat Hillary Clinton widening her lead over Republican Donald Trump and approaching the 50 percent threshold nationally in a head-to-head matchup.
The NBC News/SurveyMonkey online weekly tracking poll shows Clinton with a 49 percent-41 percent lead over Trump, her largest lead in that poll since it began tracking the likely general election matchup in early May.

He is polling well in every swing state plus some. He either has a slight lead or virtually tied. I am not sure how this poll and the others I recently saw, are remotely accurate. The swing states are where it is at. So if he is tied there, then he is in great shape.
I find this poll difficult to believe. Still, it IS a very long way away from November and Trump and Hillary have yet to debate.

Let’s assume it is reasonably accurate. Since Hillary is practically in hiding and Trump hasn’t said much over the last two weeks either, what would be the explanation for the sudden increase in her numbers?

I’ll say the same thing here that I’ve been saying on other threads regarding this topic: When you see a poll like this one showing Hillary in the lead, don’t immediately dismiss it as a biased poll, and therefore there’s nothing to worry about. When you see a poll showing Trump in the lead, don’t sit back and relax and assume he’s got it in the bag. Don’t assume Hillary will be indicted and forced to drop out of the race - Obama has already made it clear that’s not going to happen. The next time Hillary has a coughing spell, don’t assume she will drop out of the race for health reasons. The Democrats will do whatever it takes to put Hillary in the White House. We have to fight them as hard as we can every step of the way. Rush said earlier today that the Democrats never let up, and he’s right. He went on to say that even if the polls show Trump only getting 2% of the votes, the Dems will continue to pummel him right up until election day, and he’s right. We need to do the same to them. It’s better to fight hard right up until election day, and find out afterwards that Trump won easily than it would be to take things for granted and realize later that we made a horrible miscalculation.
