Benghazi report to show Clinton pushed own version of attack

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her top aide ignored growing dangers at the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, as intelligence existed indicating an attack on the facility was possible, according to a report by the House Benghazi Select Committee, which released its 800-page analysis Tuesday.

“It is not clear what additional intelligence would have satisfied either [Patrick] Kennedy or the Secretary in understanding the Benghazi mission compound was at risk — short of an attack,” reads the section.

The report, which details the committee’s official assessment of Clinton and the Obama administration’s handling of the terror attack that killed four Americans, was issued by the Republicans on the committee — the majority — after a two-year investigation, costing upwards of $7 million.

The chairman of the Benghazi committee, Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, will appear at a 10 a.m. press conference in Washington, D.C., to outline the findings.

The September, 11, 2012 attack by Islamic militants on the American diplomatic compound in Libya killed Ambassador Chris Stevens, Foreign Service officer Sean Smith, and CIA contractors Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty.

The report states that U.S. officials did not order military assets to be deployed to help the Americans under attack.

Democrats released their own report Monday, challenging what they described as the GOP’s politically motivated critique.

Clinton downplayed the report.

“Far from honoring the four brave Americans who died, the Benghazi Committee has been a partisan sham since its start,” spokesman Brian Fallon tweeted early Tuesday.

But the Democrat minority report, fatuously entitled, “Honoring Courage, Improving Security, and Fighting the Exploitation of a Tragedy,” failed to include the conversation Hillary had post-Benghazi.

(EXCERPT) On September 15, in a telephone call with then-Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr, then-Secy Clinton emphatically portrayed the “stupid, very offensive film” as the root cause of the Benghazi violence. Clinton told Amr, “I have repeatedly, as has the President, and other officials in our government, deplored not only the content of this stupid, very offensive film… But we have to exercise more self-discipline… otherwise we’ll be in a vicious downward circle against everyone who has ever felt offended, particularly on the internet….”

After referring to Benghazi, Secy Clinton’s telephone call with then-Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr also contained a curious reference to what the former secretary referred to as a “very successful investment visit led by my deputy Tom Nides, and, on the very day they left, this series of incidents began to unfold.”

NOTE: According to the Washington Post, Nides, (1) was deputy secretary for management and resources at the State Department, and, (2) at the same time, Nides was responsible for “communications with donors” for the Clinton Foundation.

Nides was also involved in the earlier scandal involving Secy Clinton’s efforts to provide special access to State Department officials for hedge fund clients of Chelsea’s husband, her son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky. (hat tip Judicial watch)

President Obama and Hillary Clinton likely made the decision to falsely tie an inflammatory anti-Islam Internet video to the fatal Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack that left four Americans dead in Benghazi, Libya, the chief of the conservative government watchdog group Judicial Watch (JW) told Breitbart News.

The president and then-Secretary of State Clinton sought the assistance from domestic and foreign jihadists in spreading the online video lie, added JW President Tom Fitton.

Breitbart News spoke to Fitton about newly released Benghazi attack-related documents pried out of the U.S. State Department under a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by JW last September.

One of the document shows that the Pentagon received a request for military assets in response to the attack, but the Obama administration seemingly refused.

An email from the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) to top White House and other administration officials states, “OSD has received queries asking if military assets are being sent to either location [Libya and Egypt]. Have responded ‘not to our knowledge.’” The Obama administration’s initial response explaining the cause of the attack was “immediately determined by top Obama White House officials” contrary to the president’s claim that it was based on intelligence available at the time.

Obama officials and the president himself linked an anti-Islam Internet video to the attack, saying it incited the terrorists who carried out the assault. The president said the video link was gleaned from the “best understanding of the intelligence that had been provided.”

One ‘new’ revelation:

Per FoxNews this morning before the presser, Panetta, Obama and Clinton were on a conference call around 7:30 p.m. (DC time) as the attack was still in process. One of their action items/excuses was discussion of a video.

Per previous timelines, the video seemed to come into being the next day (9-12) when Clinton was giving her initial public statement.

So, who brought up an obscure video to blame during that 7:30 conference? Apparently, the discussion showed they participants knew it was not the cause. So who suggested it as the excuse?

Another revelation:

By the time of the 7:30 conference, Panetta had ordered a military action team to be dispatched.

Military team apparently changed into and out of uniforms several times, as the commanders did not know whether to proceed as a uniformed or clandestined action team.

State Department apparently countered those orders and a conflict developed between State and the Pentagon. Thus, no team was dispatched.

3. What orders or direction, if any, did you give to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta upon learning of the initial attack? Did you or anyone at your direction ever modify, withdraw, alter, or amplify the initial orders or direction you gave to Secretary Panetta?

4. What were you told about Department of Defense assets in the region that could respond specifically to Benghazi? Did you ask for or receive a list of military or paramilitary assets in the region that could respond to Benghazi during the pendency of the attacks?

5. Were you subsequently kept informed about the initial attack, subsequent attacks, and/or efforts to either send military assistance or evacuate U.S. personnel? By whom?

6. When did you learn Ambassador Christopher Stevens was missing, and who informed you? Were you kept informed on efforts to locate Ambassador Stevens, and if so, by whom? When did you learn Ambassador Stevens was dead, and who informed you?

8. Were you aware that prior to any military asset moving to respond to the attacks the State Department expressed concerns to the White House about the number of military assets going

Were you aware of any efforts by White House and Department of Defense officials during the evening of September 11, 2012, and into the early morning hours of September 12, 2012, to reach out to YouTube and Terry Jones regarding an anti-Muslim video? What specifically connected the attacks in Benghazi to this anti-Muslim [sic] video, and why weren’t these efforts made after the protests in Cairo, Egypt?

11. When did you learn individuals associated with terrorist organizations participated in the attack on the U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya?

12. Did you receive the President’s Daily Brief (PDB) on September 12, 2012 and September 13, 2012? If so, who provided you with the PDB?

13. Have you ever viewed surveillance footage from the cameras (or other sources) located at the U.S. facilities in Benghazi depicting the attacks? Will you declassify this footage so the American
people can see for themselves what transpired?

14. Did you authorize a covert action or covert operation to provide lethal assistance to Libyan rebels?

In a June 7 letter to the White House counsel, Chairman Gowdy revealed that he even offered to show the White House the questions in advance.

It’s good for Trump to be as bold as he is in questioning the media and draw the public’s attention to this arm of Hillary’s campaign. They have a long history of demonizing all Republicans and conservatives or anyone that isn’t a Democrat. Keep hitting them.
