his view is common among law professors and judges.

the WANT to make law because they believe THEY are the smartest in the room and HATE being tied to the law.

Yep.

The idea that we just need to appoint ‘conservative’ judges is the same kind of foolishness that holds that socialism will work if we just have the ‘right’ people in charge. In both cases, what’s wrong is the underlying theory and the monopoly education that precludes other views.
