Free trade is the same as communism, it sounds good, but since man is guided by his nature, it doesn't work in real life.
look at the label on your shirt, pants and jacket, even your shoes or boots. Made in Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Philippines, China. Automotive parts China, Taiwan. TV s Mexico, China. Apple Products China. Ford vehicle mexico with parts from all around the World. yet the bureaucrats in Dc. more foreigners in , more welfare and food stamps. Domestic aid programs are costing more for less workers to pay for those whom are subsisting on the ones whom pay for the ones whom sit and do nothing.
No wonder why countries in the west, USA included, folks are in rebellion mode.

Wow. Absolutely right. In fact, every Republican up to Reagan agreed on these principles.
Two important points to take away:
1) Trade restrictions were imposed in RESPONSE to trade restrictions of other nations.
2) There was no income tax.

It’s just as unrealistic to think that any “fair” trade, which I am for, would not involve major adjustments by everyone. No, an iPhone won’t cost $10,000, but it sure won’t be $50. No, tomatoes won’t be $10 each, but they won’t be two for a dollar.
At the same time, American labor would have jobs available at wages that are competitive, but not $30 an hour to do landscaping. There will be adjustments on both sides, but eventually a man will be able to again make a “living wage” without needing a college degree in engineering.
I read “international welfare” as international warfare...hhmmm
We already have international warfare - only they are using the terrorists to do their dirty work....amazing how many Nations are so eager to aid and abet the bad guys in the name of "tolerance and diversity".
Slave labor always limits innovation. Pay slave wages, and you get a slave economy that needs only slaves or owners. And you and I won't be owners.
