In a clear reflection of the growing backlash north of the Border to Thursday’s Brexit result, a ScotPulse online survey of 1,600 Scottish adults on Friday (24 June) showed that 59% of Scots now back leaving the UK.

The EU was a terrible idea which is now unraveling.
The only surprising thing about it is that so many people are surprised.

The Scots have something of a dilemma. A big argument against them leaving the UK is that they are subsidized to a tune of about 20 billion Pounds every year. They likely anticipate getting a similar subsidy from the EU, if they split and are adopted.
However, the UK had also been subsidizing the EU to the tune of about 20 billion Pounds every year, from which they got back about 10 billion. But the EU can now look forward to a revenue cut of about that amount, on top of their other problems.
So the EU may have a bit of a problem to be a cash cow to an independent Scotland.

Well, on a very conservative board i would expect the majority to be southerners.

I have distant kin over there and have been over there at least 8 to 10 times. Last was 2003 though.
At that time, they were going full bore SNP and many wanted out. Anything from just south of Glasgow and Edinburgh north is extremely socialist. And they really do not like the English. The borders area has a lot of English folks that moved north to that area of Scotland.
I would be surprised if they held another vote and they voted to stay in the UK.
Maybe we should have a cold weather caucus? Where we could come together and crow about the beauty of snow and blazing fireplaces and cold weather stews and autumn vegetables??
