[VANITY] Utah / Mormons run to Hillary en masse. What do they think Hillary gives them?
Self | Self

Posted on 06/26/2016 2:25:51 PM PDT by AnthonySoprano

GOP Officials in Utah and much of the state are running to Hillary, and they been against any type of criticism of Barack Obama. WHY?

Why is Utah (and the Mormons) so quick to attack Trump and support Hillary? Why have they been so quiet to the crazy moves Obama has made?

Because SOME MORMONS KEEP INSISTING THAT MORMON POLYGAMY DIED OUT IN 1890!

Well; this is what SLC has taught them.

Oh, and NOT to check things out for themselves away from 'approved' Mormon sources.

I rode thru Utah in March ‘63 on a 50cc Honda.

I was DEFINITLY a newbie!

Never had ridden before; learned in the dealer’s parking lot in Sacramento.

Came up from Vegas (Before interstates were finished) and out the top at Yellowstone; into Montana.

(What the &#%^%#*&&% is a flatland Indiana boy doing in the mountains at this time of year?)

Well, certainly ANYTHING released by the mainstream media needs both wariness & a fine tooth comb.

Two years ago, in advance of the 2014 midterms and in conjunction with the release of FiveThirtyEight’s pollster ratings, I wrote an article headlined “Is The Polling Industry In Stasis Or In Crisis?” It pointed out a seeming contradiction: Although there were lots of reasons to be worried about the reliability of polling — in particular, the ever-declining response rates for telephone surveys — there wasn’t much evidence of a crisis in the results pollsters were obtaining. Instead, the 2008, 2010 and 2012 election cycles had all featured fairly accurate polling.Has the reckoning come for the polls since then? The evidence is somewhat mixed. The 2014 midterm elections were not a banner year for pollsters, with most polls showing a statistical bias toward Democrats (reversing their statistical bias toward Republicans in 2012). As a result, there were a handful of major upsets by Republican candidates, along with a few near misses. Still, the error in the polls was reasonably in line with historical norms. It wasn’t the disaster that pollsters have experienced in other countries, such as the United Kingdom and Greece, or even in previous U.S. midterm elections, such as 1994 and 1998.
FiveThrityEight’s pollster ratings POLLSTER RATINGS: We’ve analyzed the historical accuracy of more than 350 polling agencies and rated them according to performance and methodology. See all of our pollster ratings »
If the 2014 midterm polls were a little better than reputed, however, the reverse might be true of the 2016 presidential primaries polls. Importantly, the polls (and even more so, the polling averages) had a good track record of calling winners, with the polling front-runner winning the vast majority of the time. Furthermore, the polls caught wind of Donald Trump’s popularity among Republicans early in the cycle, even as a lot of journalists (including, uhh, yours truly) were deeply skeptical about his chances. But the margins were often pretty far off, especially in the Democratic race, with Hillary Clinton often blowing away her polling numbers in the South and Bernie Sanders often doing so elsewhere in the country. Furthermore, although there weren’t many upsets, at least one of them — Sanders’s win in Michigan — was historically epic.
Don’t take our word for it, though: We’d encourage you to explore the data for yourself...
The State of the Polls, 2016

So, Elz, lament the polling data all ya want...

As the above excerpt says, even as some 2014 polling data in certain races was flat-out wrong...
...& even as less available cell-phone #s has transformed the collection of polling data...
...(a) "the [2014] error in polls was reasonably in line with historical norms"
...&, (b) as it applies to 2016, "the polls caught wind of Donald Trump’s popularity among Republicans early in the cycle, even as a lot of journalists (including, uhh, yours truly) were deeply skeptical about his chances."

The Trump supporters can't have it both ways: Having trumpeted the early Trump data accumulating to his favor, now dismiss the Trump polling data just because it doesn't fall into line with the way they wish it would trump the Clintonians.

I think EVERY group will promote the stuff that makes them sound good and ignore the stuff that don't;

I’m worried about you. Kidney stones can cause an infection which can cause you to act not quite right. You really should see a MD immediately.

Yes, I agree Mormon theology is rather odd and I do believe it to be false.

The falsity of their theology has little, if anything, to do with the issues at hand or my post, however.

Mormons are mad at Trump because Trump conducted a slash-and-burn campaign during the primaries.

Trump’s strategy of winning by attacking other Republicans was effective for the primary, but will probably come at a cost going forward as supporters of those other Republicans stay home.

Theologically the answers this;

Mormonism is not Christian … They do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and believe him to be a created being…

Because of this, they are without the Holy Spirit. And because they are without the Holy Spirit they lack the very “Truth” that only the “ Counselor from God” can give to them.

Simply put… They are flying and make there decisions in the dark.

The Word of God tells us to “lean not to our own understanding”... that Christ through the Holy Spirit is a light unto our feet and a lamp unto our path.

Sadly those without Jesus Christ, without the Holy Spirit… Are simply “hoping”…

Perhaps it has happened in the reverse in my case!

Why would they be mad?

Mitt did exactly the same thing.

I think this describes the Jehovah Witness folks.

Truth= JESUS Jesus was born of the virgin Mary. (Isaiah 7:14; Matt. 1:23).

Mormon = “The birth of the Saviour was as natural as are the births of our children; it was the result of natural action. He partook of flesh and blood—was begotten of his Father, as we were of our fathers,” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 8, p. 115).

“Christ was begotten by an Immortal Father in the same way that mortal men are begotten by mortal fathers” (Mormon Doctrine, by Bruce McConkie, p. 547).

Truth= Jesus is the eternal Son. He is second person of the Trinity. He has two natures. He is God in flesh and man (John 1:1, 14; Col. 2;9) and the creator of all things (Col. 1:15-17).

Mormon= Jesus is the literal spirit-brother of Lucifer, a creation (Gospel Through the Ages, p. 15).

The Mormon Church came out after the gay pride was enacted and said that if there are two men and they have children, the children could not be baptized by the church until the child was 18 years old...same with two women having children...a lot of them have left the church because of this...

This is another ‘rat’ Romney move...in fact today, coming home from my daughter’s home, on our local talk show, many were calling in saying rhey wished Romney would shut his mouth...some of them went further than that..you get the message...

Trump, the last I heard and seen, is leading in Utah...however, Mike Lee said he would not vote for Trump, but he is running against a transgender person for the Senate Seat and Salt Lake City just elected a gay woman as their Mayor...

Doug Owens is running against Mia Love and he is gaining a lot of support, so doesn’t sound like she will be back...

I live in Utah, and active in electing Trump in Utah...

Just read that Mormons are making friends with Muslims. They claim it is because they are sensitive to persecuted religions since they were persecuted too. I think that they have something in common with Muslims which is very dear to them—polygamy. The Mormons follow their Bishops very dutifully, the Bishops are the important men in Mormonism. If polygamy becomes legal the rich Mormon big shots (like the Bishops) will get all the hot young women while the young guys and poorer guys will be out in the cold. Just like the outlaw Mormons.
