Multiple people stabbed at Sacramento white nationalist rally
Multiple people were stabbed and beaten in a brutal clash between white nationalists and counter-protesters just outside the California capitol building in Sacramento on Sunday, city fire officials said.
Five people were taken to hospitals with injuries, some with “critical trauma stab wounds”, the fire department said after what it called a “mass casualty incident”.
Sacramento police did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Fire Department spokesman Chris Harvey said the main fight broke out when people carrying sticks rushed into the rally area, a park by the capitol building. California highway patrol officers eventually broke up the fight, he said.
Photos and video posted online showed chaotic fights between people clad almost entirely in black and other protesters, some of whom carried signs labelled “anti-fascist”, “Nazi scum” and “smash patriarchy + racism”.
Despite the presence of police in body armor and mounted on horses, violence broke out, leaving blood spattered on sidewalks and people visibly wounded.
People used pepper spray and flagpoles to attack each other, and video showed others swinging blunt objects wildly, beating people to the ground and dragging and kicking bodies.
Police intervened, sometimes riding horses to break up crowds, but they were unable to separate all combatants before serious injuries were inflicted.
At an impromptu briefing, an officer told reporters that the force was working to disperse the protests while respecting peaceful demonstrators’ right to free speech.
“Our primary focus was to de-escalate the situation,” the officer said. “We are going to continue working with the California highway patrol to ensure that the event is held in a relatively calm fashion.”
A group calling itself the Traditionalist Workers party had planned a rally near the capitol for several weeks, and some arrived bearing shields and shirts covered in Nazi imagery.
Counter-protesters also spent weeks planning what they called a “shut down Nazi rally”. Dozens turned out to protest.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, an Alabama-based watchdog that monitors hate groups, calls the Traditionalist Workers party a white nationalist group.
The march was organized by the Golden State Skinheads, the California wing of the group. Their leader is Matthew Heimbach, a 25-year-old former radical rightwing student organizer whom the SPLC describes as “the face of a new generation of white nationalists”.
In a post to the organization’s website, Heimbach wrote that he was aware of plans to counter-protest but said: “After carefully weighing the pros and cons, we have decided that this would be our Thermopylae, no matter what it costs. “We will defend ourselves by any means necessary, and if the police in Sacramento do not protect our right to speak, we will do it ourselves.”
Heimbach was accused of assaulting a black woman at a Donald Trump rally in Louisville, Kentucky, earlier this year. He was named in a lawsuit filed by protesters against the candidate for president, and acknowledged in an online post, as described in the lawsuit, that he had shoved her. The incident was caught on video.
The counter-protesters organized in part via Facebook, writing: “Anti-Fascist Action Sacramento does not believe in allowing hate to have a platform and we are calling upon the community to shut down their rally. Fighting fascism is a moral duty, not a political one.
“We believe most people are good and are willing to stand up against racial hatred,” they added. “Our objective is to force the nazis off our streets and to send a strong message that they are not welcome in society and especially Sacramento.”

At least CNN allows a commentator to say, without being challenged, that the counter protesters came with violence in mind.
The head of the hate group is identified as a person at a Trump rally. The footage of what is purported to be Heimbach (or whatever his name is) was handy.
Regardless of the details, the overarching message that will come out (not directly, but strongly implied) is that Trump is partly to blame, his message is divisive and feeds racists.
Um, if it was a neo-nazi rally, then this guy is not a radical rightwing student. He just belongs to another of the many leftist factions, one that is a little more open about its use of violence and intimidation than most.

The “Nazis” reminded me of European skinheads, but wore their hair longer. They had black t-shirts with a gear logo with a pitchfork in the middle, it looked like.

whatever i might think about the non-assimilation of immigrants to this country, it’s not a racial problem so much as a cultural problem. and i fully understand that it’s human nature to stick to your own kind (ethnically), but that’s due to shared culture/history/values, not shared skin color. nobody controls what skin color they are born with. they do control what they believe, how they act, and which values they hold dear.

What is the Anarchist Black Cross (ABC)?
Since the beginning of the Twentieth Century, the Anarchist Black Cross (ABC), has been on the frontline in supporting those imprisoned for struggling for freedom and liberty. Until recently, the history of the ABC movement has been lost to the pages of time. The present generation of ABC collectives were left rootless with little known information about this organization. Now, specific questions regarding our origin can now be put to rest. We have now begun to rediscover our roots.
The year of origin has been a nagging question regarding the history of the Anarchist Black Cross, also known as the Anarchist Red Cross (ARC). According to Rudolph Rocker, once the treasurer for the Anarchist Red Cross in London, the organization was founded during the “hectic period between 1900 and 1905.” Despite his involvement in the early stages, we do not feel these dates are very accurate. According to Harry Weinstein, one of the two men who began the organization, it began after his arrest in July or August of 1906. Once released, Weinstein and others provided clothing to anarchists sentenced to exile in Siberia. This was the early stages of the ARC. He continued his efforts in Russia until his arrival in New York in May of 1907. Once he arrived, he helped to create the New York Anarchist Red Cross.
Other accounts place the year origin in 1907. During June and August of 1907, Anarchists and Socialist Revolutionaries gather together in London for two conferences. It is believed that Vera Figner, a Socialist Revolutionary, met with Anarchists to discuss the plight of the political prisoners in Russia. After this meeting, the Anarchist Red Cross organized in London and in New York. In addition to this information, we do know that members of the organization were on trial in 1906-1907 in Russia. Therefore, We feel the most accurate date of origin for the Anarchist Red Cross would be late 1906- early 1907 for the Russia section; June or August 1907 for the creation of the International section.
However, the reason for the creation of the Anarchist Red Cross is not in dispute. It was formed after breaking away from the Political Red Cross (PRC). The PRC was controlled by the Social Democrats and refused to provide support to Anarchist and Social Revolutionary Political Prisoners, despite continued donations from other Anarchists and Social Revolutionaries. As one former Political Prisoner and member of the Anarchist Red Cross stated,“In some prisons there was little distinction made between Anarchists and other Political Prisoners, but in others Anarchists were refused any help.” The newly formed ARC considered these actions criminal and vowed that any prison where Anarchists were in the majority, the ARC would provide support to all Anarchist and Social Revolutionaries Political Prisoners.
Because of their support for Political Prisoners, members of the group were arrested, tortured and killed by the Tsarist regime. The organization was deemed illegal and membership was reason enough for arrest and imprisonment in Artvisky Prison, one of the worst hard labor jails in Siberia. ARC members and prisoners who managed to escape from prison fled from Russia creating chapters in London, New York, Chicago and other cities in Europe and North America.
The 1917 Revolution caused a celebration throughout the Socialist, Anarchist, and Communists communities. The ARC liquidated and members began to make plans to return to Russia in hopes of participating in the new society. Sadly, their return was met by Bolsheviks repression, similar to that of the Tsarist era. After a few years of hibernation, the group was forced to resurface to assist the Political Prisoners in the new Bolshevik society. Once again the organization was made illegal and membership meant imprisonment and/or death.

Cuckservatives are terrified of the Left’s having alleged moral authority over them, and always denounce racially aware right-wingers as “leftists.” Who cares, either you accept the left’s egalitarian premises, or you don’t. The leftists will lie or deceive to get whatever they want even setting up fake front groups and marching their actors onto the field to exhibit the worst of human behavior to defame their opponents.
