I’ve been, as have many of you I suspect, following this Brexit thing and while I am a political junkee I admit to being confused.

I wish I understood how these trade partnerships work. Best I figure, this EU had all the big decisions being made in Brussels and the Brits, God bless, just didn’t like it.

The vote was a slap in the face of the elite bureaucrats as I ascertain and folks, nothing in the world more stifling to freedom than a bureaucrat.

Because they are not elected.

Anyway, will watch the talk shows today that I better understand it all.

Switzerland is not part of the EU, yet benefits from all the open economic/trade agreements. Switzerland has never been part of the EU, but there it sits, right in the middle of it.

The difference between the legal agreements between Switzerland and the other countries in the EU, are thpousands of "devil is in the details" details. But at bottom, Switzerland doesn;t contribute to the EU welfare and immigration schemes. It has open borders for travel, but not for residence.

The EU is made up of 27 countries, now 26, many of which get a free ride while bigger countries England was #2 behind germany I would guess, pay billions through the nose while getting only a fraction back.

As far as trade negotiations go within the union I'm not sure how all that works.

I am sure however that zero will screw over the UK every chance he gets until he is thrown out of office. Sad commentary for a sad loser.

Rush talked about this
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2016/06/24/brexit_a_revolt_against_the_cronyism_of_the_elites_and_a_cry_for_nationhood

I’m trying to illustrate that genuine free trade would take one sentence. Nation A will have no tariffs on the imports of goods and services from nation B. Nation B will not charge nation A any tariff or additional tax. You want to trade with us, fine. But no, they don’t end up that way, because free trade deals don’t end up being trade between nations. They end up being trade deals between cronies.
