Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump appeared to soften his tone on immigration Saturday, saying he wouldn't issue mass deportations if president.
"President Obama has mass deported vast numbers of people — the most ever, and it's never reported. I think people are going to find that I have not only the best policies, but I will have the biggest heart of anybody," Trump said in an interview with Bloomberg Politics Saturday.
Pressed on whether he would issue mass deportations as he has called for in the past, Trump said: "No, I would not call it mass deportations."
"We are going to get rid of a lot of bad dudes who are here. That I can tell you," Trump said.
Throughout his campaign, Trump has promised to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexican border and deport all 11 million people living in the country illegally.
In November, shortly after he launched his presidential campaign, Trump said he would build a "deportation force" to ship those in the country illegally back to their home countries.
"We're going to do it in a very humane fashion. Believe me. I have a bigger heart than you do. We're going to do it in a very human fashion," he said.

If you have Trump’s full quote or anything to disprove this article, I’ll gladly take it. For the record, this article is merely quoting a Bloomberg interview conducted today. That article is linked in this article but can’t be posted here. As I said, Trump may address this in a future interview, with a Hope Hicks statement, or at a rally, but I’m just going by the quote we have now.
I don’t know why people keep saying that. The First Amendment has been long interpreted to prohibit government from favoring one religion as against any other.
This isn’t a shift.... to say there is a shift is to not have listened.
He was asked if he would allow muslims from Scotland to come to the US. His response was “I’m not worried about that.” According to the media he said “I’ll let anyone in who wants to come in.”
You can watch him say something then immediately the reporter says he said something totally different.
What Trump has always said: “We don’t know where these people are coming from, what they have; until we can vet them properly, I don’t think they should be allowed to come in...” “The wall will have a big beautiful door, and people can come in LEGALLY”....
That is all I have heard him say, in all his rallies, whenever any media twit has asked him, that is what he says...

Does Trump not know that Barack Obama changed the federal definition of “deport” to include the millions of people who are arrested or refused entry at our southern border?
No president before Obama claimed those people were “deported.”
Does Trump not know that deportations from the interior USA have dropped almost to zero, and that even thousands of violent felons are not being deported?

Yes, that’s true. However, if Mr. Trump is against “mass deportations,” as he says, an efficient way to throw a bone to his followers would be to deport those guilty of murder, theft, etc.
Right! But...the laws haven't been enforced properly, and there are 11 to 20 million of them already here. According to this article, it looks like they're going to stay.

I was afraid of a “pivot”. If the quotes are accurate, Trump is stating that he will be more “compassionate” on immigration than Zero.
I hope he won’t cave on “building the wall”.
Romney said he’d enforce all immigration laws, seal the borders, cut off all gov aid/bennies to illegals and heavily penalize everyone who hires illegals? I didn’t know he advocated all that. ///

This will discourage illegal immigrants from coming to America to seek jobs.
No mention of cutting off all free stuff/gov bennies. The other stuff is good, if he really meant it, which is doubtful. He lost and good riddance to him forever. He rolled for 0bola.
