This Friday, Russian lawmakers will vote on some of the harshest legislation in post-Soviet history

If the legislation is approved (which is almost certain), Russia's authorities will gain the power to strip Russians of their citizenship, revoke the foreign travel rights of people convicted of reposting certain “wrong” content online, and access every single telephone conversation and email that crosses Russia's telecommunications lines.

Possible... there are more sides to this story.

It’s hideous that Islam has gotten enough of a foothold to require such draconian measures, which open a door to abuses. But it also sounds like Putin and pals are getting serious about stomping on it.
