Most people expected this....but four weeks down the line....not three hours after the announced results of the referendum.
Boris Johnson probably will get the vote.
But I don’t think it’s all ended there. Even for the Labor Party....there’s talk of firing their boss. The accusation is that he never showed full enthusiasm for the stay-in effort (he did make speeches and talked of the reason to stay in....but you could tell his heart just wasn’t into the platform).
Some people think that perhaps up to 100,000 Brits may pack up and leave the country over the next year....because of the anticipated issues involved.
The decision to exit EU by majority Britons was based mostly on jobs and immigration issues. If I’m not mistaken, UKIP party supporters/voters were significant contributors to Brexit.
London I think by majority voted to remain in EU.
Time will tell if it was the right decision... economically it can actually work to the detriment of the UK, I think. Bear in mind UK is not the U.S., in its economy.

I do think it disingenuous to simplify the issues as ‘jobs and immigration’ - most people would take ‘jobs’ as to mean a lack of jobs, not ‘far too many jobs are taken up by people from other EU nations who came over and assumed those roles.’ And while some might realistically view that type of an issue as being immigration, I think the concern more oriented towards the swarms of those who already have come over, as well as the mass camps in France waiting to invade even more into the UK.
All that said, like the US, the UK also has a cheap labor express issue. When 8 Poles live in the same house, all with jobs, they can of course afford a much lower take home pay than say someone who has to support themselves, a wife and children. So even if the UK left the EU, I’m going to suspect that much of the laid back no check borders will continue, and they’ll simply extend work permits to those from ‘our EU neighbors.’
And of course, no one will do anything about the immigrant invasion camps over in France.
Of course these are the steps for national suicide; imported labor while the domestic labor pool spirals into council payments, continued high spending to make welcome to the illegal invaders from Africa and the Middle East - neither of which the UK can long afford.
In NO WAY is it ever better to stay in a one government world order that Soros supports.

Don’t know if it is “disingenuous”, but typically the average voter is not too analytical - s/he is more emotional about national issues. They vote based on overarching issues, such as jobs and immigration, which they see have affected them or will, perhaps personally.

Cheap labour, maybe. Though the size of the overall UK economy is not even comparable to the U.S., within EU or globally.
Yes, I agree, the immigration and job issues will remain without being in the EU. Hope Boris J. et al will have a solution for that.... in time.

I am looking to the coming election in the US for direction. Guam gets a referendum next year with the options of Statehood/Continue as a territory/Free Association (Whatever that means)/Independence

If you look at the Sky News board....every major urban area...went “stay in”. Most all of Scotland and North Ireland went ‘stay in’. It’s the rural regions that went to a high rate of leaving.

Yes, exactly.
My take on those rural region is that the UKIP party had/has many more supporters and voters in rural regions than in London; London being typically more ‘cosmopolitan’.
That’s not unique to a main international city such as London. The same type or mix of voters and difference in voting and concerns would apply, say, in Australia - i.e. country (rural) areas, versus a main (more urban) city like Sydney or Melbourne.
These votes will feed each other. Trump's victory would have been more difficult if Brits had messed up this vote. Now, the mask of inevitable concerning globalism is ripped off!
I think there are thousands leaving europe....briexit or not....if TRUMP gets in they will come here.imo
