Thedford, an unemployed former high school teacher, dropped off his 3-year-old and 5-year-old children at daycare around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, but when he returned to his home in Melissa, Thedford forgot about his 6-month-old daughter, according to a warrant viewed by KHOU. He went inside the house to take a four-hour nap before waking up and realizing the baby girl remained in the hot minivan.

When he found the girl she was unresponsive, according to the warrant, so Thedford brought her inside the house and put her in a refrigerator for "an undetermined length of time." He then called his wife, who was at work, and 911 while trying unsuccessfully to perform CPR.

Running cool water in a sink for a baby would be much better than a refrigerator, and faster unless your fridge is so empty you have room for the baby.

But after four hours in a hot car, I don’t think the child was close to being alive when he pulled her out.

Completely reckless.

Yes, one of the first steps in treating heatstroke is to cool the victim. A refrigerator would not be a bad way to do that in an emergency. With the compressor running, it would be ventilated too.

Not that I’d recommend it as a normal course of events, but it’s not as crazy as it sounds.

I suspect it's to clean up the "photo lineup" results in the future

For the FBI facial recognition database...

Criticizing weed is fun sport here

Criticizing booze is an FR third rail

There is no question what is factual about which is more harmful to people in any culture or nation

But that doesn’t stop folks from their fun

There’s a huge over-supply of credentialed teachers, here in Canada. For every employed teacher, there’s (almost) another certified teacher without a teaching job. It’s a hyper-competitive market.

However, the skills taught in teachers college are very marketable outside the school system. That Education degree is probably worth two humanities degrees.

“Point is, chilling is a good thing in this case, but only if you are not delaying medical care.”

A young neighbor became hyperthermic while running the Boston Marathon this year..

She was immediately packed in ice,up to her neck, for 20 minutes and then transported to the hospital.

Explains why he’s unemployed.

Doesn’t explain the garb in the photo, however.

Sad to say this is/was a teacher.

Granted, a high school teacher, but a teacher who at one time might teach kinder-gardeners as well...after losing the possibility of holding original occupation.

Is a nap as opposed ‘to looking at porn’ a better defense?

Well, if she was still alive when he got her out of the car, locking her in an air-tight refrigerator until she suffocates should finish the job.
