Friends and family are defending the trio stopped at the Holland Tunnel as they said they headed to rescue a teen girl whose friend died of a heroin overdose.
Being arraigned in court Wednesday in Jersey City, N.J., were John F. Cramsey, 50, owner of Higher Ground Tactical, an indoor shooting range and gun dealership in Upper Milford Township; Dean S. Smith, 53, of Upper Milford Township; and Kimberly Arendt, 29, of Lehighton, Pa.
The trio were on a mission to help a 16-year-old girl they believed was in trouble after a friend overdosed in New York City, according to Cramsey.

OOOH! Got one of those DANGEROUS gun dealers! No second amendment for YOU!
But why the marijuana?
Interesting!
Confused white people with guns. Its a convenient media narrative and deflection for what happened in Orlando.
Stupid people do stupid things. Especially as a gun dealer, they should know the laws and the risks of what they were doing. Besides, where were they planning anyway?!
They don’t look like Muslims. If they are Christians they will be locked up for a long, long time. If they were Muslims CAIR would have bailed them out by now.
Why drive a van which is so gaudy everyone will notice it! No wonder it caught the eye of the cops.
Add at least 5 years for the .50 caliber bottle opener!
OK I have read the story and I feel for the dude. But I am at a loss on some points. What exactly was his “mission” in New York City. And how do all the guns and the left handed luckies come into it? I don’t want to accuse these people of vigilantism, but if that is what this comes down to they picked two of the worst possible places to try that.
They may actually be lucky they got stopped in New Jersey. If they had crossed the tunnel into New York they would for sure be looking at hard prison time for bringing those kinds of weapons into the state.
They were going to shoot Sport.
Delta Farce !
Ludicrous signs all over their jeep and a broken windshield in the most hysterically anti-gun region of the country; what could go wrong?
I love gun owners but do not respect stupid men. And they appear not to be either particularly ethical men, either, sadly.
Yes, and they were ghey and had surrepitious relationships both with the Orlando shooter, Caitlin Jenner, and Trayvon Martin. They were jealous of the big burly men they saw in movies rescuing various damsels through the years and became gender-confused when they saw the shooer’s wife disappear from FBI surveillance. So, they bought 20,000 condoms, a crate of cucumbers, all those weapons, and armor piercing love bullets and scented body armor.
I'm still back to my original comment: Stupid. Driving a "look at me!" vehicle filled with items illegal in both New Jersey and New York. It is almost as if they were begging to be arrested. Their intent, taking the law into their own armed hands, only compounds the whole situation.
On a mission to save a young girl in New York City.
Taxi Driver, the Sequel...
Are you talking to me Officer?
The guy lost his daughter to a heroin overdose in Feb 2016. He was not exactly thinking clearly. People need to cut him some slack. Heck, people have vigils for real criminals, this guy ain’t a criminal.
“...I love gun owners but do not respect stupid men....”
Quote of the Day!!! :^)
I loathe our gun laws here in the northeast. But if you travel here, there are many ways to subvert them - mainly by not advertising them as these dopes did.
Please. Grow up and get back to me.
OH goody a vigilante with guns and pot supposedly trying to help an OD....there is much to this that is not being said
