California to 'punish' faith-based colleges for 'holding wrong views'

'Could open Christian and other religious schools to a blizzard of lawsuits'

California state lawmakers are poised to advance legislation they say will promote greater equity at the state’s colleges and universities, but religious freedom advocates say it’s just another attempt to advance the LGBT agenda by removing the ability of schools to determine their own criteria for selecting students and personnel and establishing codes of conduct.

The legislation is known as SB 1146, which amends the California Equity in Higher Education Act, or EHEA. As it currently stands, the statute forbids discrimination based on religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. But it also contains a significant exemption for religious colleges and universities. SB 1146 would change that.

“That state of affairs is unsatisfactory to the LGBT lobby in California. They want to dramatically restrict the scope of that exemption so that a liberal arts religious institution can no longer maintain, enforce and apply faith-based conduct standards for their students and employees,” said Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Gregory Baylor, who also directs the group’s Religious Schools Team.

He says the problems with this are obvious.

“In essence, it restricts freedom of Christ-centered institutions of higher education in California that participate in the state tuition assistance program known as Cal Grants,” he said.

Given that countless other schools in California do not use religious criteria to evaluate applicants, staff and conduct, Baylor says there is no good reason to pursue this legislation.

“The reality of the matter is that these schools that have more traditional stances on religious issues, on moral issues, on sexual issues, are in a very tiny minority,” said Baylor.

Government, mainly a collection of immoral and perverted careerists, believes that morality is an individual choice and worthy of adulation. Government believes that society must accept any kind of immorality as moral. Judging by their apparent contempt for Christianity, one is able to see that they do have and in fact embrace moral "standards", and those standards seem to align well with the standards of satanists and other seemingly perverted ones.

These homosexual agenda types should stop and consider that their government is importing thousands of Muslims who would love to kill them. That's their agenda.

Atheism and LGBTism are religions. They should ban them too.

Oppression is coming down the pike.

And gutless Republican leaders say nothing.

Yes, many businesses will leave the state but the next step is to offer tax incentives to business that hold the correct views. For all the left’s bleating about tax breaks not working, they will offer them to draw companies back, or to allow them to continue to stay in business, if they ‘get their mind right!’

Romans 1:18-32 speaks of these people and why they appear. It doesn’t start with homosexuality nor does it end there. The acceptance and celebration of perversions, and perverts, is like a dead canary in a coal mine; but, instead of taking warning the miners rejoice and press on deeper to where the air is uniformly deadly.

The pubs go along because they have been promised a small percentage of the oppression booty.

Right. I believe that their brains have become diseased due to their ‘choice’ of how to achieve an orgasm. It could have happened because of their ingestion of fecal matter which is, apparently, an integral part of their sexual act.

At any rate this gaggle of perverts will go to any lengths to shove acceptance of them as a protected class. Anyone with a functioning brain can see how this insidious and perverted president and his congressional allies are working overtime to complete the moral disintegration of America.

As always, the first rule for liberalism is to totally silence opposing views. When that fails, there must be an all out assault to completely destroy the opposition by every means possible.
These two rules are ALWAYS the first tactics of Liberals.

Nothing surprises me anymore. The liberals in California are out of control and the conservatives are completely shut out of the decision making.

Oppression has already been here a long time in San Fran. Anything even remotely conservative is not allowed by the ruling class of Pelosi et all. If I put up my Trump sign where it can be seen publicly it would be destroyed and I’d be harassed. Some freedom.

Taking money from Ceasar makes it difficult to follow Christ. You can’t serve two masters. Better to be poor with Christ than rich in sin.

Hillsdale College provides a great model. Their students actually get better student loan rates (from their own group of approved lenders) than the federal program because traditional education makes them more employable and more likely to pay back the loans.

Those aren’t “wrong views” according to God.

And God will have his time of vengeance.

This is what happens when one accepts funds from the government - there are always strings attached. They take our money by force and use it as a carrot or a stick to force us to comply.

IMHO, California is the most immoral state in the union. The coming earthquake will be their undoing.

Having said that, I realize there are areas in CA, north CA for example, that are closer to what we call normal.

Unfortunately, the brush is broad.

Agreed and I’m in the most immoral city in the nation, San Fran. There are a few normal, moral constitutional conservatives here, but we mostly keep to ourselves.
