Donald Trump on Saturday accused Jeb Bush of mounting a convention coup against him, after reports that Republican delegates who don't personally support Trump are looking for ways to avoid voting for him this summer.
"By the way, Jeb is working on the movement, just so you understand," Trump said to supporters at a rally in Las Vegas.
"Jeb is one of the people that's working — and the other one should be obvious," he said, though he didn't elaborate further.
Earlier at the rally, however, Trump echoed the Republican National Committee and said the reports were a media hoax.
"It's all made up by the press, folks. It's a hoax," Trump said. "This is a story — who are they going to pick? I beat everybody. I beat the hell out of them."

Can you believe there are still posters who come on this site and take digs at him, after all Jim’s multiple requests to stop trashing him and his supporters?
For example, calling his response “thin-skinned” when we know it is more accurately termed “fighting back”, something so refreshing to witness.
DJT is nearly impossible to “figure out”, and that is a fierce “gift”. Remember that is what he said one of the members of an opposing negotiating team told him? So, we can but guess as to his motive for revealing these Bush Coup efforts.
My guess is this is very real, and by publicly exposing their shenanigans, he gains the sympathy and the advantage.
If it’s anything more than a rumor, it’s not Jeb, it’s Mitt in a Jeb costume.

Heads we win, tails you lose. At least if that happens there won’t be any Republican Party to give false hope any more. Don’t think there isn’t room for them in that spare drawer where you keep the loose nuts and bolts, and the Whig Party.

If they do this, and all his supporters wrote in his name, he would win IN AN HONEST election.
But in our banana republic, they would refuse to count all those write-ins.

If we vote them out, and it becomes all Dem, why would they even care? Wouldn’t they just become lobbyists or run under the Dem ticket? They would still hold on to their party invitations and insider trading information, wouldn’t they?

It took Stalin about 5 years to rid the Soviet Union of all the revolutionaries from Lenin’s day...there’s simply no room for people that are not original revolutionaries.
I suspect Republicans understand that - and understand that they will be at least driven from power, if not jailed on ‘trumped’ up charges, if not worse - if they are dumb enough to think there will be room for them.
That simply is not how the left operates.

I was thinking they would do it to the nationalist patriots, but hadn’t thought that they would also turn on their “friends across the aisle”.
So many of them are intertwined...for ex. Ryan’s wife, when she worked, was a democrat lobbyist. They remind me of one big family with different branches of the genealogy tree...like cousins...
