Ryan: House Republicans should vote 'conscience' on Trump
CNN ^ | June 17, 2016 | Eugene Scott

Washington (CNN)Speaker Paul Ryan said House Republicans should not betray their conscience when it comes to backing their party's presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump.

"The last thing I would do is tell anybody to do something that's contrary to their conscience. Of course I wouldn't do that," he told NBC News' Chuck Todd in an upcoming episode of "Meet the Press" airing Sunday.

"Look, believe me, Chuck. I get that this is a very strange situation. He's a very unique nominee," Ryan added. "But I feel as a responsibility institutionally as the Speaker of the House that I should not be leading some chasm in the middle of our party. Because you know what I know that'll do? That'll definitely knock us out of the White House."

This guy is %@^@!~@!

This man is the Speaker of the House not encouraging members of his own party to vote for the nominee! Astounding! He's talking about "conscience" so he can get accolades from his "friends" in the press and the establishment. The bottom line is that if he cared about "conscience", he would urge people to support who the people voted for. He would want to ensure that Hillary doesn't get in office for the unborn's sake in particular.

He then has the gull to bring up the White House! He doesn't want to win the White House. He agrees more with Hillary on issues, and frankly, he wants to run in 2020. If Nehlen can't beat him and we have to run again in 2020, make sure we work to torpedo his candidacy!

The fact that Ryan is a whinny little cry-baby should come as no surprise, he’s just following the lead of his running mate, Sh!tt Romney.

Conscience? No, I think he means their pockets, where they keep their political bribes and going-around money.

Here are some official numbers for this year’s Republican Primary, to take into consideration:

Total Votes: Republicans = 30,788,000+
Democrats = 29,700,000+

VOTES RECEIVED:
Non-Trump Republicans = 17,055,000 (28%)
Trump = 13.7mil (23%)
Hillary = 16.5mil (27%)
Non-Hillary Democrats = 13.1mil (22%)
Sanders = 12.7mil
Ted Cruz = 7.8 mil (13%)
Kasich = 4.3 mil
Rubio = 3.5 mil
Carson = 841k
Christie = 58k
Huckabee = 51k
Fiorina = 41k

Donald Trump’s national polling average (Real Clear Politics) is at 38.6%, down almost 5 points in 3 weeks. He’s never been above 44.3% in this avg, which he last hit 12/5/15.

Hillary Clinton is now at 44.1%, she’s never been below 43.2%.

Last three elections, it is unheard of for a presumptive nominee to poll below 40%. Romney never polled below 41.5%. John McCain had a low of 38.3% in 2007 but cleared 40% after 11/15/07 and didn’t fall below that. His worst number was 40.3%.

Obama in 2012 has a low point of 45.4% on 5/28/12, but never fell below 40%. Clinton has never fell below 40%.

I will not be surprised if Trump is assassinated. While not condoning him “Ole Huey Long” in 1935 was assassinated by a liberal right in the Louisiana State House. He was a threat to the party “elites” of those days.

It's telling that nobody in Washington seems concerned about respecting the wishes of the voters who sent them there to represent them.

Day after day, hand-winging over perfectly reasonable Trump statements, tells us far more about Ryan, and nothing whatsoever about Trump, other than the fact that Donald has demonstrated the intellectual nakedness of what has passed for a consensus on social values inside the "Beltway."

Again, a personal disclaimer. We used to like Ryan; were delighted when Romney chose him in 2012. But integrity will not allow us to remain passive, while this deceitful pretense of objective "fairness," undermines the hopes of tens of millions of Americans for an American tomorrow.

Ryan, clearly, does not understand--or does not care about--the duty to put "America First"; clearly rejects the idea that having sworn to defend the Constitution, his duty in applying the resources of the United States Government, is to favor the citizens of the United States over foreign interests, great and small.

If Ryan wants to help those of other nations--whether materially, spiritually or whatever; he can do so on his own time, with his own resources. But when he acts under the Constitution of the United States, he cannot be neutral as between native Americans and those who regardless of their motives seek to come here. The Constitutional intention in granting Congress power over immigration was totally for America's benefit--regardless of the weak intellectual broth on the base of the Statue.

We are trying to avoid harsh adjectives; trying to leave the door open for Paul Ryan to drop the sanctimony; drop sabotaging a true revival of American spirit, and join our cause. But enough is more than enough, here, Paul! You are not making the impression that you think you are, on anyone who can still reason.

And just what is your point? If Trump with almost five months to go, after starting from scratch, has already achieved over 38% of the vote, again in a multi-candidate race, he is very well positioned to win a landslide in November.

His principal opponent is very vulnerable. The strongest third party candidate, Johnson, who will siphon of some of Mrs. Clinton's vote, is likewise very vulnerable on the primary issue of the campaign. Neither Mrs. Clinton nor Mr. Johnson, put America & the Americans First. As that clarion call goes forward, they will fall even as Donald Trump surges. The one hope that either has, are the antics of the Paul Ryans. We do need to deal with those.
