John Kasich and two other prominent Republicans said on the one-year anniversary of Donald Trump’s announcement speech that they won’t endorse him for president.

Kasich, who ran against Trump in the primary, was asked on MSNBC Thursday about the pledge he signed saying he would support the eventual nominee. “It’s painful,” the Ohio governor said, NPR reports. “Look I’m sorry that this has happened. We’ll see where it ends up. I’m not making any final decision yet, but at this point, I just can’t do it.’

So Trump remains the non-establishment candidate after all? It will do nothing but help him.

All of those thoughts about how politicians have feelings too may be true, but Kasich and his colleagues very publicly forced Donald Trump to agree to support the Republican nominee, whoever it was. They then made the same pledge.

But now, since he isn't the nominee Kasich reneged on his promise. That shows he is just another typical politician who will say one thing to try to get elected, and then completely ignore his promises to the public.

Among the public in general that kind of behavior isn't rewarded, and it isn't something honest, trustworthy people do.

Trumpus ran against the GOPe and its ilk like Kasich. He only won one state his home state in the primaries. A total loser. The GOPe don’t give a hoot about the voters and what they want unless the voters fit their narrative. To them they are nothing more than useful idiots. Look for some shenanigans at the convention.

"My only hope for this country is an Article 5 convention. "

Can you tell me exactly what it is you want to change in the US Constitution and why?

I can think of a couple:

1) Repeal the income tax.
2) Balance the budget.
3) Eliminate most of the unConstitutional departments of the Executive Branch.
4) Repeal the 17th Amendment (popular vote of Senators)

Kasich and other like-minded Republicans prefer to give in to their emotions than to defend the Constitution.

It will be a fine day when, as they have self-identified as anti-traditional American values politicians who support a criminal socialist candidate, these ungrateful (to all that our Republic has given them) career politicians are rendered irrelevant by liberty-loving Americans.

The GOP is dead to me. I am going to register as an Independent. I live in Illinois, so it really makes no difference; but I’ll feel better.

The GOP is dead to me.

It's not the voters you have a problem with...it's the thieving RINO interlopers.

“It’s not the voters you have a problem with...it’s the thieving RINO interlopers.”

Generally, a political party exists to provide voice to its base. When the party ignores its base, the party ceases to function as the voice of the base.

The GOP has ceased to function as the voice of its base, and therefore there is no need for the GOP.

Trump should unilaterally move the convention from Cleveland (really, Cleveland?) to Mar-a-Lago.

Much nicer location, and why provide an economic reward to a turn-coat?

Kasich signed the pledge to support the GOP nominee, didn’t he?

Just more proof of the backstabbing anti-American liars that he and the rest of the eGOP are.

” Again IMO he bludgeoned them until they quit or until they were no longer viable candidates. “

BS. People want someone that represents America and Americans. Trump just points out his opponents obvious flaws with that.

Kasich, et al, have said far worse of Trump, yet, you back them??

Tells me you’re just an eGOP supporter no matter what.

It is YOU that needs to think then post.

Why, are you planning to propose it?

Who would, and why would anyone vote for it?

“...I can’t tell you what his proposals are to do everything you just listed, that’s what I meant by the policy arena.”

They’re laid out in detail on his website.

And he’s talked about them as well.

Hillary hasn’t said anything more specific.

But the general will be between socialism and capitalism. If he’ll just keep coming back to that, the details won’t matter as much as the big picture of choosing the direction for the country.
